IF somebody's film resume doesn't extend beyond some mini-movies (and especially unauthorized fan films at that), Paramount isn't likely to sign over a $120 million dollar project as their first big action feature.
Even Chu had a more robust resume with the Step Up and Bieber films, at least showing he had worked within the industry before and had experience in that regard, if nothing else.

From an action standpoint, I agree with you. It would be bad ass. But I'm not a fan at all of the liberties he took in the TF movies and my stomach churns at the thought of what he might possibly do with GI Joe.
Can't erase the sight of Devastator's wrecking balls from my mind LOL |

I vote for Stephen Summer the director from Captain America for the director for GI Joe 3 and I would love to see Mark Wahlberg as Beach head as a new Joe for GI Joe 3!! That's my 2 cents worth.

I'm much less excited for another Joe movie knowing that Hasbro isn't keeping the brand alive at retail between movies. Blame kids/collectors for not buying, but I blame it on lazy ol' Hasbro for essentially tossing in the towel and not reinventing the brand... as they have (to mixed results) for literally years now.
So get whoever you want to direct it won't really be my GI Joe. It will be a bastardized video game movie meant to appeal to the vapidity and microscopic attention span of today's kids. An audience who frankly have almost zero interest in the action figures/accessories/vehicles. They just like the movie as a stand alone. It's a sad state, but Hasbro seems to have zero idea what to do with this brand, in movies, cartoons, or action figures. Sorry to be a fact Nazi, but the director of Capt America: First Avenger was Joe Johnston. |

Call of Duty and Battlefield games are essentially an interactive Michael Bay film, and when I play either of those titles, I think "GI Joe".

They should just give the license back to Marvel like in the 80's. Marvel could just reboot the whole thing and fix everything. New director, new cast. An updated ARAH story line.

B: Marvel Studios has shown no desire to make anything other than Marvel Comics movies, and certainly not of licensed properties. |
