Yes, I would support such a line.

Yes, please. I would definitely buy Viper after Viper. Some named characters here and there.

The specific price isn't really important for the sake of conversation. The point is we are talking about a higher priced collectors item not available at mass retail. Whether it is $45-75 is arbitrary. But it won't be a $25 figure we can buy at Toys R Us or Target. That isn't what Funko/Gentle Giant does, and it isn't what Hasbro licenses out their brands for. Hasbro licenses out their brands for the products and channels they don't service.
Funko/Gentle Giant doesn't need to target mass retail stores like Target or TRU for their lines, they can continue to do what they've been doing, aim for specialty/online stores. With the fandom as small as it is, maybe that's the better route for GI Joe anyways. I don't see anyone really complaining that Sideshow Joes aren't at Toys R Us. |

That's why this poll will have no bearing on Hasbro's decision whatsoever, if they're even aware of it. Hate to say it, but the 'Tank is FULL of cheapskates.
That's okay - GI Joe can be an inexpensive thing to collect if you want, and not everyone can afford $20 figures. But a well done 6" line would not be targeted at those collectors.

Funko/Gentle Giant's Game Of Thrones Legacy figures sell for $20+ at Barnes n Nobles and specialty/online stores. Hasbro doesn't service a 6" GI Joe Black Series-like line at retail currently nor do they even have a design team at this point to create one.

I think the fact that about 50% of the current population of HT (which is a group brought here by 4" modern figures) votes yes and that many of the nos admit they would buy them anyway bespeaks the power of the concept. If this vote was taken external to a site mainly populated with 4" enthusiasts, the yeas would skyrocket IMO. |

Hasbro has no problems licensing out 12" figures to Sideshow because they do not service the high-end specialty products that aren't competing with Hasbro products. Same with the GIJCC. It is a consideration of the price of product and channel of distribution that makes Sideshow or Funko licensed products from Hasbro different from Hasbro products. But a 6" figure line at a price-point Hasbro does service would not fit that criteria. I'm sure Hasbro would allow them to make the product, but it would have to be at a higher price point than what Hasbro sells at so the product is differentiated from their own offerings and business plans. |
