I paid $45 shipped on ebay, I though I paid less. Anyhoo, I'm always surprised it's $9 for shipping. I mailed a carded figure in the same box for $3 with DC by first class.

So I stupidly bought a third Desert Scorpion opener from the Club (got my second opener from BBTS, and I got 2 sets from my own FSS subs) and threw in some clear cases, and was surprised at how high their silly shipping rate was, but went ahead and pulled the trigger, using the cheapest shipping option I was given (FedEx Ground).
It arrived today, and in a fucking USPS Priority box. Shipped by FedEx. Could they get any fucking cheaper?! Where the fuck did $12 figure into all that? |

I've had UPS stuff delivered via the USPS during their shitstorm over last Christmas. The UPS label was covered over with a Priority label. I paid for UPS ground, but I guess they were so much in over their heads, they had the post office deliver their packages and UPS paid for it.

I think it is pretty common for fedex to deliver to the local post office in bulk for usps to make the final delivery. USPS visits everyone anyway so I think its a way for both entities to benefit and provide a bit cheaper service perhaps.

No, I don't mean that FedEx delivered a USPS package or the USPS delivered a FedEx package. I'm well aware of how that works.
The Club took the free USPS Priority boxes, and shipped them via FedEx. So they didn't have to pay for a fucking box. That's what I'm annoyed at, them charging crazy amounts on shipping and then being even cheaper by stealing boxes meant for postal service. Wouldn't piss me off so badly if they didn't have a record of being cheap or incompetent in their shipping. |

No wonder the post office is losing money and raising prices. This must be rampant if a business is doing it.

Of course they overcharge for shipping, they have to include the labor in packaging the items. They can't pack them for free.
It only cost $1.86 usually to ship one figure 1st class. you can print the labels from home. I'm sure they get a discount from fedex, most businesses do get discounts from Fedex, UPS and USPS. So they are probably paying $3 to Fedex to ship a figure. |

Sigh. There's a difference between CHARGING FOR HANDLING and downright stealing boxes intended for use at another shipper that they provide for "free" as part of their service.
Of course that's the Post Office's stupid system and there's nothing illegal that I know of about it, but it's shady and something I'd expect to see college students or cheapskates doing to cut corners, not a fucking business. Of course, this is the same company that charges you to return damaged items that were crammed into a box, on top of charging you for "insurance" to prevent such bullshit in the first place. |
