I don't want the dojo but the Kreons and HISS are f'in sweet. But $70 sweet? Nope.
I think Hasbro should have released the dojo and HISS seperate from one another...not many people will be willing to pay this much. I'll probably wait until the individual stuff hits ebay.

I do hope it sells well so we get another big set like a headquarters. If it doesn't sell well then we probably won't. I see many complain about the price, but if you break it down it's not a bad price. I mean a hiss tank with 2 kreons would run 25-30 dollars, then we get se with a motorcycle and 2 grey ninjas and hard master. That's about a 20 value easy. Then a huge temple dojo with lots of neat features. Now if you just hate the ninja stuff then yes it's hard to fault you but it's a pretty incredible set.

Wonder if the HISS tank follows along with the basic design on the BTR Hiss tank from earlier years just scaled down

I was worried it would be expensive, but that's still pretty reasonable for a lego-style toy of that size.

No matter how you cut it, we are getting less for our money - but perhaps more per brick, but I don't really do math like that. And to top it off, the dojo is less desirable compared to a Joe HQ or Cobra base for nearly everyone.

When it comes right down to it, I would be happy just getting the figures and selling off all the vehicles.

With all the ninjas that have been released in the Kre-O line so far, I think that this'll be a buy for me. I need that Destro, Baroness and H.I.S.S.
Let me be clear: I don't want them, I need them. Kre-O has become my vice and I'm starting to twitch like Pookie from New Jack City knowing that these are out there and not on my shelf yet. The price tag is what's really holding me back. Chap's breakdown above has me second guessing. I'll give it a week or so to see if it hits TRU.com, but if not, I'm going to bite the bullet and go get this and every other damn set that I'm missing, lol. |

From a building block stand point, this set really is a great deal.
It breaks down to about 10 cents a piece, which is usually the gold standard in pricing Lego sets (licensed sets often cost a bit more for Lego because you factor in the license fees and the fact that they'll still sell at a higher price so why not). Factor in that this set includes a light-up brick (a really cool feature) and the deal gets even better. Here's a Lego set with a light up brick feature that is also 69.99 msrp, but note how small the total brick count is compared to the Dojo set: Museum Break-in* | LEGO Shop 563 compared to the 697 here. If it's not your cup of tea that's one thing. But as building blocks go, the math works out. |

Hobbes, you're obviously well versed on the subject, so if you feel that it's a solid buy, then that's all I needed to hear. Now to ninja my way to TRU without the Wife realizing what I'm doing. >.>
