The only way a crossover could work is with a reboot.

I hope for a different writer. Didnt care for some of this storyline(killing off Duke and most of the joes, cheesy dialogue, destroying all of London and didnt seem like a huge deal, rushed ss/ zartan storyline) etc, etc..

best reason yet to take the Spec Ops guys from the first Transformers movie and make them into GIJoe. Those guys should of been Duke, Roadblock, etc. It would of been perfect.

They should get rid of Chu the only good thing in part 2 was the look of Roadblock.

Perhaps a "World's Without End" story line would be appropriate where an alternate reality is created from some Cobra device and it's basically a movie like "X-Men: First Class" where it's essentially a re-boot but keeps the movie continuity intact so to speak.
But I think a Gi Joe movie that would be similar to the military look and action in Transformers would be way better. Retaliation took too much time trying to continue the storyline from the first movie and make itself different. There were too many plots trying to please everybody. And if Gi Joe had been handled correctly, there'd be talks of a Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadown ninja movie because Snake-Eyes is just as big as Wolverine in terms of popularity. But really? You had one of the most successful comic books ever in the 1980s and you can't essentially take the story-arc of the comics and translate it to a movie? The Avengers basically demonstrates that you can stay true to the source-material and costumes and give you a winner. You don't have to do too much updating to garner the attention of the casual movie-goer. I guarantee Transformers would have been even bigger had Bay decided to go more a long the lines of G1 looking robots rather than a more "this is what they'd look like if they were real" attitude. He basically captured the early cartoon episodes. It's tough though in the current film industry to promote the United States military when so films rely on Foreign markets to boost revenue. The Lone Ranger suffered a meltdown because the US film-goers didn't care for it and foreign markets don't do well with Westerns. The same goes with military films. But you can make Act of Valor for $12 million dollars and rake in $81 million dollars. Hollywood Executives think you need big stars to carry films, sigh. Essentially you really don't need anyone to play any character that wears a mask. The movie execs are over-thinking this. |

This is exactly what it sounded like DiBonaventura wanted in an interview; to explore the ninja aspect more.
