The HISS II was used a few years ago as joecon exclusive. Thats how I know it can be used by hasbro, since it was used recently. That, and the Rattler, X-30 Conquest, the 1992 HQ, Mobile Command Center, Dragonfly, HISS I, SHARC, and many others. All of these were used in recent years as exclusives. |

what would i like to see come back? most of you have nailed it, especially general scarlett. ;) AWE Striker was always my favorite small ground vehicle (used for recon/sabatoge/insertion/extraction) stinger/vamp is next after that. iconic. skystriker would be the ultimate win, but im not holding my breath. i'll repaint a PTE F-18 in classic skystriker colors for now. dragonfly. my favorite helicopter, ever. close second is the tomahawk. (considering a PTE blackhawk to assume the watch) MAULER! joes need tanks! and it would be a good counter to the HISS. rattler would be awesome. perfect counter to the skystriker. obvious choice. i like lots of the smaller cobra stuff like FANG and trouble bubbles. not much else from cobra... they always seemed to have less variety when attacking joes. (going mostly from the cartoon here) or it was lots of "one hit wonder" experimental stuff that joes always ended up destroying. on the F-14 being decomissioned... as a sailor that was on the ship that carried the very last west coast deployed F-14 squadron... this aircraft will live FOREVER in all of our hearts. everybody on the ship felt the return to san diego that day was bittersweet. glad as we were to be back home, we would never see the F-14 in action again. that said, if hasbro were to go ahead and greenlight the SKYSTRIKER, it would be like a final salute to the TOMCAT. a very honorable farewell to an old friend. i would buy one in a heartbeat. i would have my own SQN (squadron) if i had the room and my wife's blessing. ;) besides... i feel the need... the need... FOR SPEED! *cranks up "highway to the dangerzone"* (people have also told me i bear an amazing resemblence to "Goose" from top gun when i grow out my 'stache.) I hope Hasbro is able to restore the mold to working use and that the retailers ask for a jet. The tooling costs are already done, the mold is already there, so a ton of money is saved by reissuing it, rather than tooling up an all new plane. Molds cost a ton more than people can even consider to realize. With the skystriker the work is done, it just needs the clean up, and the retailer demand. If anyone wonders if retailers will want a big jet, go into TRU, look at the PTE A-10 on the shelf, and look at its box size. I rest my case. That beast has nondetachable wings, and due to that, has a huge box, a box that would be bigger than a skystriker's since the skystriker was always packed with its wings swept back, saving a considerable amount of space. Really the box for it wasn't all that big. If the PTE A-10, an all new mold but a much smaller company, can come out for $30, I don't have any worries about how much a skystriker could cost, an old mold already made, and made by a much larger company. If it does come out, I would buy more than 1, I feel the need to customize. I would keep 1 as is with hopefully the vintage liveries. I would then make one based off of the X1-10 prototypes from Pax river, and then possibly a jolly rogers or VF-1 Wolfpack version. |

I saw the Ghoststriker X-16 for the first time today, and given it's size it seems like a decent jet for the 25th line ~ given a realistic paint job i think it'd do the job nicely; i'd probably even suggest naming it the Skystriker (or anything better than 'Ghoststriker' :p) since i'd put the likelyhood of the original ever reappearing pretty low...
I'd also love to see the dragonfly retooled with a modern weapons complement, the ability to carry 25th Docs stretcher, whatever new cockpit action is needed to seat the new figures and a nice camo paintjob...

Shin, you think the Skystriker tools are still stuck in Madras? That's my best guess. Besides, I don't think the 25th figures would fit. I have to twist Slip Stream to fit in my #2 Skystriker.

I'd think I'd prefer the Storm Eagle to the Ghoststriker X-16. Preferably without the watergun feature. Its funny how the Storm Eagle (the YF23) looks better than the Thunderwing (F22) does. I'd also love to see the Tomahawk re-done, but in black and maybe some Skyhawks for escorts.
With the announcement that the HISS and Awe striker are coming, it makes me think the Hasbro is following the 82-83 pattern. Release the figs, then release small vehicles, then scale up to MOBAT tanks and beyond. I wonder if we'll see PAC RATs. |
