Hey guys,
Dunno what the rules are RE: posting links to other toy site's content, but there's a video interview with DePriest frontpaged at Toynewsi.com right now in which he reveals that we'll be treated to some "surprises" at TF 2014. Vague, but seems mildly encouraging. |

He quickly backed off his choice of words there. He was more comfortable calling it "news" than "surprises". He also mentioned that they were hoping the brand picks up some more popularity among kids and that Toy Fair was "probably" when they'd have the aforementioned news.

He seemed optimistic and excited so hopefully we'll be pleasantly surprised next year.

Nothing like not showing anything new for almost 2 years (by the time Toy Fair rolls around...) At which point they'll show a few things and say "catch us at Joe Con for more reveals" where they will show a couple things and then say "just wait for what we show at SDCC..."

Yeah, just confirms a brief hiatus with new stuff at Toy Fair 2014.

On the WoJM podcast #83, it sounded like Joe has no full time designers. Darryl and John Warden apparently are on other lines too. So, Joe may be a like a part time job for a handful of people. That was the impression I got.
Problem is, it is hard to build a brand that way. Hopefully, this line will be better resourced at some point. |

I did like how he stated to watch for more possible repaints of the larger vehicles as exclusives of some sort.

The only thing I took away from watching that was the impression that nobody should be getting their hopes up too high.
