Well, Baroness and Cobra Commander look fantastic!
Destro I'm a bit meh on... I think there's a pic floating around of an alternate headsculpt, though? I hope that's included - might force me to buy it, then. I'm not feeling the new Storm Shadow at all. And of course the Hot Toys stuff is superb but while Retaliation was entertaining, it's not good enough to get me to want to spend $200+ on figures. Gotta be picky with these prices. I don't think Otomo's comments are off the mark at all. Maybe when Sideshow was charging between $90-120 for their stuff, but if they think they can charge Hot Toys prices they'd better be damn spectacular...

I can't believe they couldn't do anything better with Destro. I was really looking forward to this one.

Here is a pick off One Sixth FB page of Destro with alternate headsculpt and sans trench coat:
Actually its a kitbash that someone said was superior to SSC's version.

I think Sideshow has done a great job bringing something to the table to Joe fans. I think their ideas, artistic approaches, and relevance to the fans are something of valid weight. I think we have seen a wonderful line that is filling the Joe (and Cobra) ranks quite nicely. That being said, it does not mean that there aren't some problems that could, or could have, used some work. I think such figures as Snake Eyes v2 and Firefly were perfect (in my opinion). And I will admit that I have been very excited about the pre-order for ol' Chrom-Dome v2. I love the idea of a Storm Shadow v2 as well, and am still hoping that we may even see a battle-armored Commander and B.A.T. at some point. The Baroness, Bludd, and soon to be Destro are also much needed additions. The problem that I can see is based on three outlooks. First, not all of the designs necessarily appeal to every fan. Some designs might not be accurate enough, or just completely miss their mark. Secondly, customers buying from the 12" figure base are getting quite used to the quality that Hot Toys delivers. It's just top-notch in both quality and detail (*cough* let's complete that Retaliation line with CC and Firefly). Lastly, the current figures displayed at Comic-Con - though most likely proto-types - seem to lack in-depth quality. Here is what I mean. If we examine CC, we notice a rather long-looking neck, a thin body underneath the clothing that makes the attire look baggy and an overall "weak" appearance. On SS, we might not get the "feel" of the character perhaps because the outfit is too off the mark, as well as Destro's up-to-the neck undershirt and long coat. The quality seems to be lacking, and one would hope that the final versions are cleaned up and polished to reflect a bit more accuracy (regardless of artistic rendition). I myself would love to see the current three mentioned buffed up a bit - though I feel that the Baroness herself is pretty spot-on. I have no problem with Sideshow's take on characters what so ever. I've collected the 3 3/4" figures for years, so it's a breath of fresh air and adds excitement to Joe line. I would just like to see the overall quality perhaps a bit more fine-tuned and detail-conscious. 'Nuff said.

I think Storm Shadow would look better with the Black Dragon Ninja's feet , bracers, and, leg wraps. If I had the money to buy both I would, paint the Dragon Ninja's parts to match and call it good. For now I'll just enjoy SS as is.

I can see why people would be a bit miffed at the inaccuracies but to be honest it has a more realistic look to it. I have some outdoor Tabi boots and to be fair I would prefer the ones the figure has, my only complaint is the hood is slightly too large it looks a bit off, not by much though and if this figure is around the price of the other Sideshow figures you can count me in!
