Well at least they didn't let Frank Miller write it, cause then all the Joes would be hookers on heroin--
What the hell am I sayin' that'd be awesome! |

Did I miss the part where Hasbro and Paramount corporate ninjas are going to break into the house of everyone that owns any Joe product from the last 25 years, steal all of it and burn it, then refuse to admit that such products/stories/whatever ever existed?
History isn't getting "destroyed" in any way, shape or form. We'll still have our old Joes, our old comics, and our old toons (most of the latter two getting fresh re-releases in and around the "movie time" period). We can continue to enjoy them for the rest of our lives, if we choose. The arrival of something new doesn't take away from what's come before. Last edited by cerberusrex25; 03-26-2009 at 09:22 AM.. |

But once you start changing a character's history(events that have shaped their lives), you run the risk of destroying the character. but hey the final verdict will be at the box office |

I guess history often does repeat itself. I believe there was a similar sentiment about another major Hasbro franchise about 2 years ago or so, and yeah, that line is a rotting corpse, huh? This is not going to destroy anything but it is a definite set back. Your reference to Transformers is irrelevant. Other than that it was based on Hasbro product there is no competition on the script, the product and the direction of the movie. This movie is clearly not made with the existing fan base in mind. That is the disappointment. You can call us negative, nerd rage, gloom & doom whatever makes you feel better. However, when you go watch this piece of shit you will think "they were right".

Well, I finally have made my mind on this movie and I like what I hear. I've been expecting a campy, fun movie and this is what it sounds like.

Shipwreck gets the clap and goes to Doc for treatment. Doc is really Zartan who injects Shipwreck with venom.

Unless you're just saying you're so utterly incapable of distinguishing between versions that you'll stop liking G.I. Joe/Cobra Commander altogether because this one particular interpretation isn't to your liking? I can't imagine that's the case, but if you're going to be getting rid of all your old G.I. Joe stuff because you can't enjoy it anymore, I'll be happy to take some of it off your hands if the price is right. |
