There's no point. Cobra Commander has no reason to trust him and Storm Shadow already killed off Zartan. Storm Shadow is better to Cobra Commander dead rather than alive.
Makes for a more interesting plot though, Destro could have the Iron Grenadiers formed to take on Cobra, or maybe ally against a common enemy(GI Joe). |

I hope not. Storm shadow's Ninja Force costume was AWESOME, and Nunchuk was cool but little else of Ninja Force was. Same reason I think IDW killed them off in their continuity, I think to them it was fan-service.

He didn't really turn "good" in Retaliation. He merely turned morally ambiguous. You could tell in that last shot that SE and him aren't exactly "cool". The origin didn't play out exactly like in the comics. SS doesn't seem remorseful for what he's done with his life since the Hardmaster died so I imagine he's going to continue to be a wild card.
SS should join up with Destro and join the Iron Grenadiers.

I like the movie universe Storm Shadow much more than the comic universe one now. He has a better rivalry with Snake Eyes in the movies. In the comics they were just best friends, they never really showed the rivalry. It was reduced to a few panels in issue 26 or 27. I always hated how easily he was accepted into the Joes. There was never any friction with the Joes that he fought before. He should have been the black sheep of the team. Or just a Joe mercenary.
On a seperate note, I really hope that the success of Retaliation gets Lee Byung-hun more work in Hollywood. He's had the best performance in both movies now. |

Naw, Cobra Commander knows he can't trust Storm Shadow anymore. He and Jinx threw that room full of world leaders into chaos when they started attacking the other red ninjas, the Cobra security troops. I remember Cobra Commander ducking and covering and telling Firefly to get out of there with the briefcase before he ran off. So unless CC wanted Zartan dead and the whole Zeus thing was a diversionary ploy for some other plan, I don't think we'll see Storm Shadow and Cobra Commander as willing collaborators anymore.

Plus his acts as mercenary after the Hard Master died...it's not like he could go back to the Arashikage, his own clan, including Snake Eyes, all thought he was responsible for the Hard Master's death. He was basically disowned without being given a chance to prove himself innocent. So to him, he might as well have killed the Hard Master himself since his clan didn't really see it otherwise. Him finally clearing his name doesn't make everything right but the thing is, his clan, Snake Eyes/Jinx, they did him wrong more than he did them. I do like what Chu and co did with Storm Shadow in Retaliation. I just think it wouldn't make any sense for him to go against the Joes/Snake Eyes in part 3. Quote:

Well Lee is showing up in Red 2, I wouldn't doubt it if there are more movies to come. With that said, while I enjoyed his work in Retaliation, he has actually had better roles outside of GI Joe. I 1st saw him in a horror movie a few years before ROC even came out...very impressed by his acting. |

SS could always go back to work for Cobra. He had his beef with Zartan and took care of it. He's gotta eat, and Cobra seems willing to hire just about anyone. Besides, Cobra lost a few guys and might need SS back.
It could make an interesting angle for SS. He's working for Cobra, even though the events that initially pushed him there have been resolved. Does he still want to be associated with an evil organization? What other role is there for him? Probably deeper than they'll ever go, but it might make him more ambiguous. I still think the SE/SS fights haven't been that great. Partially because the SE suit is still too restrictive. It does get a bit monotonous to have SE and SS immediately square off with each other. I'd rather see SE going through some Cobra troops. Or having a kick-ass fight against numerous ninjas. I'd like to see SE stealthily taking out some Cobra guards and breaking into some facility. I feel we haven't really gotten that side of SE yet. |
