i scooped mine up online last night. sorry folks, but i don't hunt for shiz. there's not enough hours in the day to hunt all over L.A.
i got it mainly for the BAT!! i'm a sucker for all things Red & Black. he looks so tough. this is the first CC i've been after since Legions. again, something about this dude in anything other than blue that makes him worthwhile. Duke looks tough as rocks. can't wait for the mailman! |

Agggh! I don't understand why people like this Cobra Commander. I get the changes to the helmet, but the shoulder cape and waist skirt just strike me as totally uneeded. And the sword? I find it about as useful as the silly staff he's had in so many repaints and re-releases. Cobra Commander is a pretty hard pill to swallow as it is, but a scepter and a cape? Why?

What I don't like is how the sculpted skirt and coattail block hip articulation to the point where Cobra Commander cannot even sit. You thought the diaper crotch figures were worst? Think again. Those can sit way better than this guy. Sculpt is great and he looks great on the shelf, but I thought hindered articulation was killed off a long time ago. It's a shame too, this is my favorite Cobra Commander design out of all the Cobra Commanders seen in the 25th/modern era line, yet his articulation suffered the worst. The missle launcher that came in this set is actually very neat. I didn't think much of it before, but now that I have messed with it, I like it a great deal. You can close the doors, then press the button, which then launches the missle right out and blasts the doors open. Awesome. See this is a missle launcher I don't mind. Way better than any of the movie ones we've seen so far. It also helps that it is mounted on it's own stand(and can be detached if you want it hand held). I like the red Cobra Troopers, they remind me of CGs in training, and I like CGs a great deal. You can't go wrong with this mold. Good touch with the Officer helmet, just wish the V was actually molded on. The BAT is great, the only one I've found with consistently painted/weathered forearms. The only bad thing is that there is excess flash near the elbow joint, and it interferes with movement. I hope the joint itself is not loosened once I get rid of the excess plastic. Jetpack Duke is cool, I like the retooled parts and the new jetpack, that thing is way better than the modern era CLAW we got. Anyways, I wish web gear and functional holsters were added. One of the best Dukes in the line. Overall yes, this set is full of repaints, with some retooled parts and all new accessories. Yet it is one of the better box sets. |

I just noticed that Duke's head is different than the regular Resolute Duke. Is that the movie Duke head on there?

Got my Resolute 5 pack yesterday evening at WM, very nice set even like CC with the new colors. The Bat and Duke are my favorites from the set, the glider pack is a great accessory.
