If a person on Ebay was selling it for that price-more power to them and I hope they sell it but for the manufacturer to do that-is not right.

Merry Christmas, and thanks for keeping us all up to date on what is "right" and "wrong" in the Toy Collecting Code Of Morality, chum. My only regret is that I didn't buy one of the graded Destro figures when I had the chance. I didn't really want one, but if I had known how much it would get to people, I would have gladly placed an order. :p |

Perhaps a "convention exclusive" pertains to figures not sold at a traditional retailer. So, since HTS is an extension of Hasbro just like the convention, the rule "convention exclusive" still applies.
I don't think the Yellow Stalker is worth nearly as much as the Gold Destro or even the Silver Destro. According to a senior level contact at Hasbro, the Yellow Stalker is considered a running change, not a variant. Accordingly, it's very possible (although I can't say likely in the near future) that Hasbro may produce more Yellow Stalkers in the future. Just take a look at Flint. Since they say that PDD is a limited edition, convention exclusive, I'll take their word and attach a much higher value to the Gold or Silver Destro. While many collectors were turned off by the high Gold PDD prices charged by Hasbro, I really didn't see any other possible way Hasbro could have sold the figures through their website other than an online auction like eBay. There were too many collectors willing to fetch the figures at a price of $50 a piece. Once the price was set to $150, it leveled off the demand to a more manageable level. I was just as turned off by the price, but sometimes you only have a split second to make a decision, so I said "what the hell" and did it. If I were Hasbro, I'd make as much PDDs as the market demands them and stop all the store or convention exclusives so everyone would be able to find them. But that's just me. Quote:

Hey, nice BOD. I want your BOD.
Back on topic, what are the dates on these as far as being graded. You can check online at AFA if you input the number to see when it was graded. I was wondering if they had been sitting on these very long or had just got these back. |
