Ohhh, yeeaaahh.
Still, I am excited to see their Rockblock. The potential to recreate my 1:18 Rockblock custom in 1:6 scale is kind of cool. Soul crushingly-expensive (especially with all the gear that would need to be purchased), but cool. |

Wow...wonder what this means for the Sideshow line now. Many are crying "death of the line" and this might be it's death knell if the shift will be toward movie figures.
Looks like we are only getting Bludd and Baroness next year. The rest will probably be Retaliation figures - Roadblock, Cobra Commander, Duke, Firefly, etc. I'd be excited about a Cobra Trooper or helmeted Cobra Commander. If they are as good as The Avengers line, we might be in for a treat.

The Hot Toys figures will be good,I don't doubt that, but I hope Sideshow doesn't use this as an excuse to not continue their renditions of our ARAH Classic Joes |

Yeah, I could see both lines co-existing - HT does the movie line and SSC does ARAH.
I don't know if the typical Joe fan will dish out the $200+ prices HT demands. It was hard enough to get people to buy the $100-$150 Sideshow versions. A lot of the HT collectors pay a pretty penny for spot on movie likenesses.

I was going to be upset that the two lines won't mix, but I guess it's ok to have a realistic Joe line from Sideshow, and a movie verse line from Hot Toys.
Be warned if you're new to HT, the sculpts are excellent, but be prepared to pay $200+ for each.

Sideshow and Hot Toys are two different companies. Hot Toys also has a host of movie licenses that never see the light of day. IE, Prometheus figures. If the movie bombs these figures won't move forward and if they move forward each and every one well be over 200. Of course we shall get likely all we desire just look at the Batman trilogy line.
On that note I think I'll just stay with Sideshow ones instead Cheaper and the Joes I know. |

Yeah, take a look at The Avengers and Batman TDKR figures from Hot Toys...I almost broke my "Joes Only" rule to buy Catwoman because it looks just like her.
But with such accuracy comes a pretty penny...Rockblock will be at least $200 or more because he will be taller than 12". But imagine all the goodness a Snake-Eyes or Storm Shadow would be...armor, weapons, etc. I personally would love to see a decked out Firefly in his movie camo and TONS of weapons and bombs.

Do Hot Toys clothing straps come apart easily? I gave up on Sideshow because of that.
