And any ONE of those has more cross brand appeal (comic and cartoon guys) than Kwinn (who really only does it for older comic guys). Hasbro says a LOT of things, but they can't control how well the line does at retail (or retailer support of the line). Hell, given the current state of the line (even back in 2010), I'm still shocked Kwinn even got tooled to begin with... Quote:
I would suggest making the assortment size larger then, Joes used to come in cases of 48 I believe (not positive) of course there was only one or two waves a year. If
you have 48 in a case you can toss in a couple of last years Duke and Cobra Commander. or luke and vader if you will. Then you dont wind up with several Dukes that rot on pegs while Alley Viper and Lowlight fly off the shelves. I (notice I said I) dont need or want 100 new figures every year. I would be happy with 20-30 new figures (carded and vehicle drivers) on the retail front. Yes I know its not the 80's any more. Larger case assortments also create the issue of, if you have one or two figures that just don't "click" with consumers, you have a LOT more of them to clear out. Remember how badly Arctic Destro piled up when he was just two per case, imagine how bad things would have been if he had been 3 or 4! So long as Hasbro and retailers continue pushing the wave system, big case assortments aren't practical.

Retailers have pushed for smaller case assortments because it allows for greater cycling of product, the idea of a consumer going into their store every few months and finding something "new".
And yeah...when that case of 48 is whittled down it'll be really easy to have a "Joe section" filled to bursting with only Duke and Cobra Commander leftovers and nothing but (I leave out Snake-Eyes and Storm-Shadow because despite having tons of figures out there, those two generally tend to sell through), which would block any more cases coming in until they're sold. Think it's hard to find the Joes we want now? Imagine if your local Target was literally only getting one case a year. |

HA!
I like how Big Boa's pic is on the front page news, but he's been 'Sold Out' for quite a while.

I don't understand why these old news items are popping up on the front page... like the Hot Toys Snake Eyes preorder.
Is it supposed to be an April fool's joke? If so, I don't understand why it's funny... |

It's not the first time we've seen front page news about an older Sideshow pre-order. I think they get paid a little somethin' somethin' under the table to pull out the old threads and promote for folks like Sideshow.
