No disrespect intended towards racing or its fans, but I can't ever call it a sport. It doesn't interest me, but neither does football or dancing with the stars, so I don't think my lack of interest has anything to do with ignorance. However, I can't call it a sport. A long time ago I decided that sports were anything that involved athleticism and competition. So playing a game of basketball is a sport. Shooting hoops by yourself is not. Unless you're seeing how many baskets you can make in a minute, there's no level of competition to it. Racing takes nerves, guts and a lot of things, but I don't think there's much athleticism to it. Why is poker on ESPN? Why are Spelling Bees? I don't see any athleticism there either.
However, taking pics stealthily and getting them to us joenerds is probably both athletic and highly competitive and I can't wait for them to start pouring in around Toyfair. I hope something is said about those mini rumored battle stations or bigger ones. EDIT: sorry about that Shogi. Last edited by silence368; 01-04-2009 at 09:42 PM.. Reason: wanted to say something |

Well I hope there is at least somethings from the movie I like to buy this summer, as I'll be passing on all we've seen so far.
And I also hope we see Non-movie stuff too, cause you know there is a couple month gap between Feb and when the movie stuff starts to hit. |

Yeah, the figures are a pass for me.According to IMDB,the release date for the GI Joe movie is August 7th.The toys may be out about a month or 2 before then.If we don't get any info in this stuff at TF,it probably won't be unveiled until SDCC.

Have the powers at be here at HissTank decided how they are going to handle the coverage?
If there is a vote to be taken, put me in the "Live video feed" catagory! Is it still too early to think about such things? |

Speaking of this Toy Fare 2009, Mattel says they have acquired a new license for something and it's going to be a huge uproar . . . in a good way. My hope and guess is for THUNDERCATS! But as usual it'll be for something insignificant or not noteworthy. Probably Centaurions, or something like that or Gulp! SilverHawks. Also there is buzz about a New Disney Master License and a Rainbow Brite revival, but we know that already. Maybe perhaps Jem? IDK any thoughts kids? And who has the Thundercats license anyway? LJN is defunct and out of business.

"I'm surprised no one has commented on this. I just read the solicitation in the latest Previews for the March issue of ToyFare magazine. It mentions a new Mattel line that'll be unveiled at Toy Fair next month, and detailed in the March issue of the magazine. It'll "blow you away" and make you wonder "how did they do that?" Hmmm...guesses? I don't think it's DC related. There's no mention of DC in the text." Many have speculated that it is the announcement of the WWE license, but I am not so sure; after all ToyFare already did an article on Mattel getting the WWE license. A new line that will blow me away and leaving me asking how did they do that would not be the WWE license. I know how they did that....money! So Toy Fair will have some intrigue.... P.S. forgive me if I violated any rules by posting stuff from other sites; I tried to give credit to the original poster |

The Toy Industry Association's 2009 Toy Fair will be held February 15-18 at the Javits Center in New York City.
Only trade professionals and media, however, will be allowed to attend. So I'm excited to see Hisstank's, TFW 2005's, and Toy Ark's coverage of the event! TIA | Toy Fair |
