Meh. A couple of good looking figs there but mostly stuff I won't be buying. I hate ninjas and I do not like the new ankle articulation.
I wish there was a better release of 30th and PoC stuff. Those were some kick ass figures. |

Dang, I really need to clear out my fodder bin to justify getting these. I couldn't tell from the pics but can anyone tell me if they went cheap on these figures like how they went cheap on wave 1 Road Block's lack of double jointed knees and ankle articulation? That was really annoying. It was a giant cheap backwards (play on giant leap) in action figure design.

If you think these are going to be found in decent quantities in retail you're in for a shock. With stores looking to reduce the amount of space for toys in 2013 as well as enable methods to reduce overstock of toys to remedy the need to place things on clearance; I wouldn't be shocked that G.I. Joe is placed on the chopping block as a collectible/seasonable item which big retailers can chose for the brand to only be sold in certain locations.
Additionally, mix that in with bad timing and these are going to be a b%^&* to find. For the last six years at lease, stores have basically cut down the orders for toys between December and June. Now with stores wanting less spce for toys, you can bet that no new orders for action figures will be placed by stores like Target, Walmart and TRU during this time. If we are lucky, we may see Waves 2-3 surface here and there but crap, Retaliation isn't even being released during the summer so they may not bother. On the other hand, if Retaliation is pushed back by two months with a release date of May 17th, it would give these toys a better chance at selling in stores.

However, I do have concerns how much wave 1 and 2 Hasbro's going to ship to retailers, and if those sales are weak, we might not see wave 3 or 4 until the fall (again, I think Hasbro will push the retailers to carry the line through Christmas to cover the DVD release). As I said early on, I really suspect Hasbro kept quiet on wave 5 (which might have also included those awesome "ultimate movie accurate" Flint and Roadblock figures) to cover themselves in case sales are weak and they can't get that wave produced (like what happened with Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which saw 2 waves of cancelled product) I do agree that the delay killed any leftover goodwill the brand might have had and I don't think we're going to see as much retail support as it might have gotten this year (which might equate to a better run line since there would be far less incentive to overstock early on) Quote:

At least with the March 30 date, Joe has a good 3 or 4 weekends being among the only "big action films" on the market, which increases the chance of increasing the brand's visability.
