I kinda feel bad for chu:( this dude is working his but off trying as hard as possible not to ruin the brand...and yet some how I have the feeling will still manage to throw him under the buss. I have a feeling that he will know how jesus felt after this movie comes out..."just an analogy" not intended to be a religous statement.

I just think it's ironic, in a pathetic sort of way, that folks bitched about Rise of Cobra in how it deviated from the ARAH roots, and here Retaliation is directed by a director who actually knows what Joe is, and worked to create a film that long standing fans of the franchise would recognize and appreciate.
Yet, the bitching still continues.

It's starting to look like every movie ticket is going to come with a free Hoover, Bissell or Dirt Devil product. :-/

The movie was 100% finished. Any film is normally completed long before it hits theaters. But due to poor initial reception Paramount was forced to scramble and push back the release date. The 3-D conversion and additional scenes were only added after the fact.

Not exactly.
The film was not 100% completed when it was viewed. Facts matter.

It does when the incessant whining begins and judgement is placed on a director and a film that's not even been released for the public's consumption.
But I digress. Unless it's a direct translation from a sunbow cartoon, with Larry Hama directing it and Hasbro handing out free toys, it's the death of teh line and a horrible abomination, etc etc.

I'm beginning to think this film will not make it to theaters.
From past examples of when a major film gets pushed back almost a year, it was a sign for a direct to DVD release. I think it would be for the better since the film might be more successful in this format than in theaters during what is typically referred to as the dead season( January 1st - May 1st). I hope this is the last go around for live action Joes for a good long while. For a live action film to be successful, it has to be based off of a format that children are very familiar with. They need a long running cartoon that would act as bait for more toys and then lead kids in with a live action film. With the brand flip-flopping focus every year, it can't be successful, too much for people to continue to re-familiarize themselves with... Additionally this is supposed to be an advertisement for toys, so I hope Hasbro pulls out all the breaks in the future and goes back to making 30th Anniversary style figures and vehicle updates!!!!!
