I demur the assertion that 3D will improve the quality of the film. It is nothing more than a marketing gimmick that directors keep pushing just so people will go see their movies and so hollywood can make a quick buck on a gullible audience. Every director who has made a 3D movie over the couple years has made the exact same claim that Chu is making right now and that claim has been proven false time and time again. These claims should be seen as a giant red flag that is warning us ahead of time of the poor quality of the film.
I was fooled by the early trailers, like so many others, that this film was going to be good, but this marketing ploy has proven to me that the movie will most likely be terrible, even for summer blockbuster standards. Until I have seen the final product and been proven otherwise by a popular consensus after the movies release, I remain highly skeptical of the quality of this film. |

Nope!
Regardless of whether Retaliation gets another delay, March will still be here before we know it. We just hope that when March arrives, that Retaliation remains slated to hit the box office.

"I’m in that room, watching… It’s hurting my eyes, but we’re getting it better, and pushing it further.” - Jon Chu
Yeah, yeah. I would have gone to the movie last summer, but crappy 3-D movies HURT MY EYES. I'm a huge Joe fan, but I don't think I'm going to this laughable movie when it's released. Maybe I'll see it on Netflix or something. |

You can't polish a turd, no matter your technique or tools.
The first mistake was the director. The second mistake was the script. The third mistake was ignoring the main canon continuity points. The fourth mistake was paying for it. The final mistake was trying to un-f*%$ it all and delaying. Every person of the age of consent knows that one can not un-f*%$ something, once you have f*%$ed it the resulting baby is yours.

One positive thing I can think of is that there certainly won't be Avengers/Spider-man/Batman kinds of competition in March. If they get to call themselves the #1 movie for 1-3 weeks or so, that will go a long way towards the next sequel. It won't matter that there was nothing to put up against it. It's the number that counts.

The first mistake was letting Rise of Cobra to be made. The second was not letting Hama do it. The third then was choosing the guy who did the Justin Bieber movie do it.

Wasn't Hama actually a consultant on the first one and didn't he tell them to not be bound by any constraints and to let loose? I think the only thing he asked to be nixed was a supposed after credits thing where Snake-Eyes is telling a joke because his vow of silence had been lifted.

...not to mention the fact that the script and plot have already been developed successfully, all you'd need to do is pull from there and mature the dialogue. In fact, you waste time, money, and talent by overlooking that opportunity. Just really horrid judgement all around with the movies in particular, and at least 3/4 of how this franchise in general has been handled. For every success I can count three needless failures.

Not to mention Resolute showed you could do a new GI Joe story correctly. Hell, they should have just turned Resolute into the live action movie, but expanded the plot by another hour to really dive into the characters themselves.
