I am not sure what you mean by a normal auction. If you mean a start at .99 cents and take whatever it sell for, the reason i did not do that should be pretty obvious... I did not want it to possibly sell for $50, obviously. Auctions take two eager people to bid against each other to raise the price. I hate reserve auctions and will not be a part of one, to list with $5k reserve is just plain stupid in my opinion. It just pisses people off.
The item had (has) a make offer option so people could do that, or even email me with an offer if they were serious. Regarding paypal, the option of handing a large chunk over to them is not appealing I would be perfectly glad to even met someone some where to exchange this item. And I am not saying that I would not take paypal, it is the last resort thought.

So, I know some were asking what was in the box for this unproduced vehicle. I finally had a moment to shoot some pics. I bought this in the late 90s/early 00s....my box was opened though still

True the Sky Stalker did make it to market. I remember all the Toyrus, Ventures, and KBToys in my area, had the Sky Stalker in stock and they sat on the shelves forever. However, the helicopter known as The Tiger Hawk did not make it to the US Market. The Tiger Hawk was renamed and repackaged as the Battlehawk and sold exclusively in India. I was lucky enough to have both in my collection. They also made an exclusive green repaint of the Sky Stalker for the overseas martket, but I've only seen it MIB and I don't own one. Very few of these exclusives vehicles show up on Ebay and when they do they usually sell for under $100. I picked up my US Sky Stalker MIB three years ago for $25.00, that's including S & H, which is what it retailed for in stores back in the 90's. The Battle Hawk was a bit more, but it was still under $60.00 with S & H.
What sellers have to understand is the items they're selling, any collectable item is only valuable if its popular and a lot of people want it. If the item doesn't have those two factors going for it, you can forget trying to sell it for $5,000 to $4,000. GIJoe Extreme wasn't popular with a lot of Joe fans, and many fan don't even want to acknowledge its existence, plus the toy line was a complete failure. I'm one of the few members on this board that liked the cartoon and remember the toys fondly. Also the Thunderin Fury isn't as rare as we think it is. I remember someone posted a pic of the GIJoe Blockbuster tank for sell MIB on Ebay and in one of the photos they posted, they had a stack of Boxed Thunderin Fury tanks in the back ground, just sitting there, about eight or so staked one on top of each other. I'm still kicking myself for not saving the pic from that auction. Oddly the seller was an ex-Kenner employee. So I believe they're more out there then we realize. The ex employees likely brought some home, knowing the toy line was a failure, hoping that one day they could make some extra cash selling them as collectors items MIB on Ebay in the future. So there out there guys, we just have to not give in to these high prices when one shows up on Ebay. Last edited by Dree64; 07-22-2012 at 11:24 PM.. |

Could at least do Free Shipping! Since you probably bought it for $20 or traded for it.
