As I was looking at the slew of images that were released today, I noticed something that may be a hint of things to come.
1. Take a look at Zartans sleeves from the upcoming 5 pack. They appear that they have had a drybrush detail added to them. Alone I would say that this is just a production model, but unlike the updated mold on the baroness, this looks to be a straight repro of the wave 11 with the pink chestplate. Why add the detail if you already have a production figure? 2. Take a look at lady J's torso. (No this isn't a cross post from that popular "Who's Sexier..." thread) it appears that her entire top has received a green dry brush and her belt possibly got "weathered" as well. Again, not significant by itself, but..... 3. People's exhibit C. The stinger from the upcoming vehicle pack. Did they take it for an off-road test behind the Hassenfield Bros. Toy factory up thee in Pawtucket R.I., or is that mud detailing I detect. I believe that they did this same thing with some of the IJ toys as well. I also don't recall mud being on the earliest leaked pics we got a few weeks ago from the collectors club website. Maybe this is a hint at the direction they plan to take with the resolute line to give it a "gritty" more adult feel. I don't know about the movie toys because the images of the Rock Slide we've seen to date lack this finish. Let's not forget the bat had a drybrush, so maybe it's nothing. But maybe along with fixing flints arms, lady J's hands, painting Snake eyes black, giving shipwreck and CC 2 good hands, and chroming up the vipers faceplate and fixing at least one of his hands HasBro is moving in a new direction in their paint apps! Am I crazy? Maybe these are Last edited by goosetuber; 11-15-2008 at 09:42 AM.. Reason: Self Edit: Upon further review (and a PM from Kingsurlycrab) It appears the mud detailing was present in both sets of photos. |

Lets hope they're stepping up the detail... Hasbro is capable of making the best toys on the market, so I'd like to see that in everything they put out.

yep some Improvement in details and paint apps is welcome! Maybe they learned their lesson with the horrible quality of the Indiana Jones line.

I look back at the 2000 ARAH Collection and see a lot of what OP is talking about. It's a thought, at least.

I would say that the new Baroness' whole body is the movie mold, and the new Lady Jaye shares at least a few pieces with the movie Cover Girl.
