Better to leave fun publications out of the equation. Ehobby offers great exclusives and the fun publications items typically don't hold a candle to the Japanese exclusives.

Some ME figures on old Takara cards would look pretty cool.

Well it would work like this: if e-hobby has a cool exclusive and partnership with the GI Joe Club, the GI Joe Club can bring that exclusive over here for presumably less than what it would cost you if you were to buy it from eBay or a contact in Japan+shipping. For example, the left over Botcon sets are being sold in Japan from eHobby via their partnership with the Transformers Collectors' Club/Fun Pub.

And Oceana / EU / UK gets nothing because we don't see 18-20USD a figure.
Great job there Hasblow. 16USD and you'd have sales. Power Rangers gets them at that mark. |

Sounds like a very one-sided arrangement to me. The E-Hobby/TFCC arrangement is not too bad because E-Hobby actually has its own Transformers exclusives that American collectors want, and vice versa.
With a GIJCC/E-Hobby partnership, it sounds like it would be only benefitting Japanese GI Joe collectors(presuming there is such a thing) and the two club businesses. There would be no immediate upside(such as unique product to purchase) for the American fanbase. The only small glimmer of benefit I can see for current GIJCC members is that it might fan the flames of the GI Joe hobby in Japan which might give rise to a Japanese collectors club or perhaps 3rd Party companies, but the odds of those things occurring are remote at best, almost not even worth considering. |

The immediate upside is more figures right? Maybe super cool Japanese figures that do Japanese things, like...uh...fight Godzilla and.....teach Ralph Macchio karate! Also, Japanese GI Joe exclusives are the only way to get Quentin Tarintino to direct a GI Joe reboot.
All kidding aside, this sounds cool, especially if they are designed in Japan. It's neat to see another country's take on something pretty American.

I can't help butbe pessimistic wherever the club isinvolved. They still haven't got their house right after the credit card breach. Their online store is still down after all. I'm stunned that anyone would want to partner with them.
