Berkowitz had this to say about the G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary Line.
Quote:
There will be 25 figures produced, with the idea being that we'll get a new GI Joe Figure for every year the G.I. Joe, A Real American hero brand has been on the shelves. We will see 2 (5 packs) then 3 waves of 5 single card figures each will start hitting stores in June. Waves 2 and 3 will roll out sometime before christmas.
Styling: Hasbro R&D worked from plethora of source materials when designing the look. Some styling details were taken from the cartoon, for example, Scarlett's pony tail, other details just came from questions our hasbro Designers posed to themselves and each other like, If Snake Eyes really existed in 2007 what gear or accessories might he actually carry? Lee's AFR Articulation: The new G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary Figures can boast between 16-25 points of articulation depending on how you choose to count them. The new Figures will not have an O-Ring, Lots of ball and Socket Joinery (Neck, Upper Torso, Hips and Shoulders), and swivel joints (Elbow, Wrists, Ankles). The knees feature a 3 point articulation with pinned hinges on both sides of a separate "Knee" Piece that gives greater range of movement. All the new figures have soft vinyl hands for ease of positioning weapons. The new Figures will be in a 4" Format. Check out Lees Online at www.leestoyreview.com

I hope the 4" format is a misunderstanding or something. I was hoping for 3 3/4, which the official site says. I was thinking of preordering them soon but now I will wait until I see them next to older style figures for comparison. If they look out of place hight wise I may just skip them which is a shame since they look so nice.

I believe they will fit in nicely. Some of the VvV figs were awful close to 4".
Either way...I want them, already placed a pre-order for first two 5-packs.

After taking the two figures and standing them side by side I must say that the Spy Troops Cobra Commander does not look so out of place that it will matter much. In fact I have had him, Serpentor, and two Viper Pit sets on display for at least a month and haven't really noticed a size difference. I may place a preorder for both sets later. To better illustrate the size difference I have taken pictures of the two figures together. They aren't the best but it should help.

But if they stand out too much in a different scale, they are pretty much worthless to me.... 'cause they are for openeing and for PLAYING! |

The difference isn't really too noticeable to me, but yes it is there. VvV Night Creeper is another large figure. But...from the pics you posted, I think CC will fit in nicely at 4" with the 3.75" troops I have. I can picture him being a bit "bigger" and more powerful than those he leads. So it should be ok.

I'm glad the pics helped. The Valor vs. Venom Baroness is taller than Destro and that bothered my when I was displaying them but I had to display them together plus that Baroness mold is the best that has been released in the past 5 or 6 years.
I just preordered both sets from BBTS. I can't wait for them to be released. I wounder if they will have a few more accessories than we have seen so far. I would like to see a USA flag with the Joes and a Cobra red and blue flag with the Cobras. The only other thing I want to know is who the last 10 are. I hope that Sepentor is one and that he has a look similar to the Dic cartoon version with the younger looking face and some of his hair showing. After seeing a clip of him on YouTube I have been wanting a Sepentor that looked like that.
