This is the kind of show that will cause runs on ebay... Like the one last year when the show Good Morning America featured a Star Wars collectors collection, and it was said the original figures were worth a lot of money. That very day people were listing their vintage 1977 Star Wars figures for way over the market value. For example, a loose Princess Leia, with cape, for $200.00 and up... I have a loose Leia figure, with cape, and it has never been listed for sale anywhere for more than $50.00 to $60.00. Yes, a particular item might be valued at $100.00, but that doesn't mean that it will sell for that price... Like what happened during the beanie babies craze, when people were buying up the things at high prices, only to have the values of them plummet to a fraction of what they paid when the craze passed.

The minute a "fringe" subsection of the population gets its own reality show, is the time when that "fringe" becomes "mainstream." At that point, I don't know if I can continue "collecting" as a lifestyle. I don't like it when people pay attention to what I am doing, or, even worse, attempt to engage me about it.
I can't handle that-I like my niche hobby Look at storage businesses now-they are busy as all hell at auctions and you cant find nothing no more |

Sounds interesting, to be quite honest.
And let's face it - some collectors DO need that collection intervention thing in their lives. It's good to "clean house" every now and then. We all buy stuff we don't actually care about from time to time.

And, while I'm at it. I suppose changing Sci-Fi to SyFy was our indication that it's not really so much a Science Fiction network anymore. Sigh. |

Think about that, "reality" on a science-fiction channel. Am I the only one who sees a disconnect? |

How the F is Axe Men, Ice Road Truckers, Swamp People, etc. a history show??? At least Pawn Stars and American Pickers have antiques/things from the past - and Ancient Aliens at the very least talks about historical events! But I'm getting off topic....I'm with ya, man, lol. |
