CC VS Serpentor? Both are great villains with different leadership qualities. Remember when Hama brought CC back from the "dead" and he went on a rampage by killing those who he felt were a threat to him or traitors? He locked them in a freighter, buried it on Cobra island and then went and took over Millville? Remember his win over Headman and the Headhunters for their usage of his Broca beach real estate to peddle their drugs? That was a great villain. Remember when Serpentor dressed the wound of a nameless soldier in the battle of Springfield? He even carried him to safety saying that they would not leave their brothers on the battlefield. Comic Serpentor was a great leader (He should be, he was a clone of many great mility leaders throughout history) his cartoon counterpart was kinda gimmicky but then again it was a cartoon, geared at children so it should have been that way. Larry Hama has never treated the characters as cartoony. He delivered quality stories and characters (with Hasbro limitations and input mind you) that have lived on in our minds for over 25 years. As a kid I enjoyed the stories for what they were but as I got older I learned that the ranks, serial numbers, locations and so much more were all real-life things mixed in with a comic world. Serpentor and CC have great potential and I will be happy with whatever direction the writers take. We all have to remember that this is a comic book and they do have a history of being a little bit unreal, almost make believe, perhaps they were created to take our minds away from real life for a short time and appreciate something childish and enjoyable with no real life problems to take care of in the process. As for Chuckles.. Bring it on cuz Brandon Jerwa did a great job with him so we know it can be done.
I couldn't agree more man. Thats exactly what I was trying to get across. They're both great villains and would be great to see in a live action movie, comic, and cartoon in the near future. Regardless of a lot of fans wanting the story to resemble real life with cold blood killin, it couldnt be like that bc its target audience was children. Plus that's the story we all knew so to alter it or exclude any characters from future comics, cartoons, or toys would suck bc G.I. Joe is very character driven. When I was young and they were first introduced I didn't only want a few characters I wanted to collect all of them. After a while it became too much to even keep up with as kid but at least I knew I had already collected its core characters from the comics and cartoons. |

The fact that I'm open for new character addition, I don't hate any particular character and really wouldn't want anything to be changed or altered as far as original character involvement, plot, and/or story. except for maybe a more futuristic approach and what yall cry so much about. Which is how Serpentor was introduced and cloned from history's greatest leaders and such nonsense like that. I just hope IDW gives him a retelling and makes him more bad ass than ever with a more believable introduction along with CC being more ruthless and treacherous than ever before. |

I must say that blindly loving anything and everything somebody or someone puts out doesn't ring true of being a real fan, either. Creators need feedback, positive and negative. To just say "I am just going to love everything this guy or this company puts out even if it is the most absurd thing imaginable and even if I don't really want to" seems a bit daft.
I agree and acknowledge that there are fans that don't have to blindly like everything about a brand or story but in all honesty I'm sticking up for a favorite character of mine in the story and saying he was a great addition to the line. Creators definitely need feedback positive and/or negative but from a fan's perspective if I'm already a fan of the line and its story I personally choose to have a more positive and broader outlook and appreciate the story already being told. Once a selfish fan starts complaining about them not wanting a certain character's involvement in the storyline and creators read into that, sometimes changes get made for the worst and before you know it contradiction occurs and stories end up all over the place. i think it shouls always have its core original characters and militant approach but with a new futuristic twist. |
