As somebody who dislikes Marky Mark (yes, that's what he still is to me) with a passion, I'm personally very glad he was not cast as Duke. He alone would have kept me far from this movie, despite my like for Stephen Sommers and my desire to see Joe on the big screen. Fortunately, I have no previous knowledge of Channing Tatum (never even heard of him until he was cast), so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. He looks decent enough from the pics/footage I've seen.

Although my preferred choice for Duke was Colin Ferguson from Sci-Fi Channel's Eureka. I mean, the guy damn near looks just like Sunbow Duke.

What's done is done. Love, hate it, it filmed and finished. Theoretical coulda, woulda, shoulda matters not. No matter what we got a lof of cool new toys to buy or pass on that can compliment any collection, even if you hate the movie.

(On a side note: Wahlberg is a better actor, you cannot deny that)

I can tell you this though, if you cannot let go of an image an actor had Damn near 18 years ago.........then do yourself a favor and don't watch any of Channing Tatums dance flicks. He makes Marky Mark (LMAO) seem like Brando!

I too think Wahlberg would be a better Duke than Tatum, but he's not Duke and Tatum is so let's just see how it turns out. I think Stone Cold Steve Austin should've been cast as Gung-Ho for the movie!

Actually, Selleck was prevented from taking the part by CBS, which quickly greenlit Magnum P.I. when they realized he was special enough to interest someone like Spielberg.

LOL!! Actually, I meant it in a sarcastic manner. I never liked him period and simply continue to refer to him as "Marky Mark" as a way to show my contempt for him. (I'm still trying to erase the memory of the Italian Job remake.) When it comes to acting, I think Donnie Wahlberg is much better.
