I am contacting local senators office today. They will help me find out the actual way to dispute a trademark application.
I know this will not stop all frivolous trademark applications but you can't reasonably do this to a symbol that is several centuries old. |

I know this will not stop all frivolous trademark applications but you can't reasonably do this to a symbol that is several centuries old. I will post what I find out and I urge everyone to do the same. Just think. Maybe someday Hasbro will come up for sale like how Marvel was and Disney of all companies will by Hasbro out. If that happens, then Disney will own the trademark to this I Ching symbol and nobody wants Disney to own anything more than what they already have. It is bad enough that Wolverine is a Disney property. Think about it. For example, some one now can sell a shirt with that symbol and say they are selling an Arashikage shirt because Hasbro doesnt have any control to stop them. But if they do get the trademark that shirt can no longer be sold as an Arashikage shirt, it would need to just be sold as an I Ching shirt. Now, if they are trying to get complete control of the symbol.................... then yes that is something stooooooopid. And before you even get that going im pretty sure some Chinese group is going to be combating that. |

You should find out first what the trademark specifically is because, like i said before, if the trademark is for the symbol tied to Arashikage then that means that no one can sell something with that symbol and say it's something Arashikage.

I don't have a problem with them trademarking Arashikage. I'm more bothered by the fact that something with spiritual significance for me is being plastered all over toys and t-shirts with little regard as to its true meaning.

It just seems that it's being used more frivolously. It's one thing to when a couple of fictional characters have it tattooed on there arms as a symbol of the lessons perhaps learned, quite another to have it all over every jeep and aircraft. Back in the day, I feel the hexagram was used with some respect for its meaning. Now not so much. I just hate the way Hollywood has to cheapen everything, and that every thing needs to be owned. I'll stop bitching. Sorry.
