you're just trying to bait and troll me, man. i'm not talking about 80s action figures and how things were 30 years ago.
i'm talking about articulation of action figures on the shelf RIGHT NOW. marvel legends, marvel universe, dc universe, power rangers, transformers, star wars, thundercats, batman legacy, spider-man, halo....and that is just off the top of my head. there are a few lines that have next to no articulation (bakugan, ben10) but for the most part, most lines have a great deal of articulation in the figures. you can honestly say that seeing those vehicle drivers next to the rest of the very line they are in doesn't look ridicluous? |

it has nothing to do with whether those other figures look better in comparison, it only has to do with whether kids that purchase toys care, and the vast amount of action figures on the market today with minimal articulation seem to reveal that it ain't that important to them, or else those toys wouldn't continue to be made in that manner year after year.

I don't think it's the articulation that sells the toy. It's all in the branding. The brands that sell well despite being unarticulated are all brands that sell themselves. Kids will buy Ben 10 and Batman toys because of the characters, not ther articulation. However GI Joe doesn't have that luxury. One of Joes selling points (going all the way back to Kung Fu grip) is the fact that they have the best articulation on the market. GI Joes as a toy are better than an unarticulated Batman toy. But kids don't give a crap about Duke. They want Bakugan and other Japanese things I can't pronounce. Kids buy because of the characters.

But GI Joe has always been about the best articulation. So why throw out 45+ years of success? Why go backwards to try to attract more fans? Doesn't make sense.

Truly upsetting to see that the packaging no longer includes filecards.Thats so huge for me, i love knowing the rank specialtys and a bio on a figure. Its cool in general and even for a lot of fodder figures as long as they had a filecard and some relevance to who they are and what they did for their organization it made me almost feel like the general having everyone on file. Role-playing aside haha WTF ARE THEY DOING!!!....articulation scrapping is an even BIGGER issue...i like the vehicles but probably wont be buying them knowing the drivers are simply lackluster and don't match any gi joes from the last however many lines....cmon thats just lame. A the bright side i'm all about getting a fuggin Bruce Willis 3 3/4 along with RZA as blind master who has some sexy gear.

The Night Viper and Crimson Guard look like the best figures of the collection.
