That would be one hell of a book but even more of a challenge to pull off. This is something people have been clamoring for... for quite some time. But it involves a hell of a lot more than scanning some images. This would literally be a blood, sweat, and tears project I'm sure. That would be the kind of book you put together, get published, and then go on vacation after completing and probably never want to look at GI JOE again after said completion. HAHAHA.

As for Jim's book, I am super stoked for this and will definitely pick it up.

I'd love to hear it, Shin Densetsu.
Thanks to everyone for their enthusiasm. I approached this, my first real non-Transformers project, with some trepidation. It was misplaced--Joe fans are an amazingly friendly, helpful, resourceful bunch, and it's thanks to you collectively that this book will probably eclipse The Ark books in quality. Welcome to the Tank Jim!!! Can't wait for the book!! |

it'd be cool if there was a way to use the Kindle mini e-books to periodically release the additional images that weren't used in the book.

Looks cool. I'll definitely pick one up.
I think a book exploring the design work of the toys would be cool as well. From early sketches to finished product. And stuff that never was. Just to get an insight into what went into the line. Could be educational for how a toyline operates which would probably be helpful to many fans online and might bring perspective to the decisions facing the toy designers. |
