wow wow wow I got my order update today right as I was putting my pre-order out for wave 4! Kokomo is my hero right now!!
Cannot wait to see that Rip Cord ( a favorite of mine, weirdly I also liked Jar Jar Binks and the twins from the TF 2). Thank you Kokomo! Could I declare November 30th Koko-loco day?

Whatever...you are fighting a losing battle in this thread. Tell you what, DON'T BUY from Kokomo. Todd and Amber are HORRIBLE people. I hear they lock their children along with other adopted kids from Latin America and Asia in their basement as slave labor to ship out my pre-orders.
Good luck at retail. I will happily buy your share. Until then, if you don't have anything to add to this thread other than your thoughts on scalpers, I suggest you fight the urge to press reply and move along. Thanks!

I don't think a lot of people on this board understand what a scalper is. A scalper is someone who goes to your local stores and buys only the in demand figures and leaves the rest. They then leave the less in demand figures on the shelf and charge more on the secondary market for the ones they purchased. Stores eventually get clogged with less in demand figures making them stop ordering and collectors are forced to a secondary market.
Collectors end up paying more for their figures and local stores stop ordering. Kokomo and other stores like them buy directly from Hasbro so they have to sell the entire wave. If you buy the entire wave then the price is always comparable to big box. For the singles the prices are set to sell the same amount of the entire case. At no point in time do they remove popular figures from your local market and try to resell them. A scalper has to have someone to scalp. If they purchase by the case from Hasbro they are in no way taking any opportunities away from you. Also if someone buys an exclusive that you would not be able to buy and charges more to resell it to offset the cost of being there, this is not scalping because you would not have been able to purchase it. Places like Kokomo are run by collectors who understand the market better than big box and will take more risks to support the line.

More than positive experience and would buy from again! |

What's your problem douche? I say meh and you start being a dick, and then I simply state what others state about markup/scalping just to mess with you. Have you even see what I ask for Joes on ebay? Honestly, I'm totally on Kokomo's side as a seller, just not as a buyer ;).

The thing that collectors and enthusiasts have to learn is PATIENCE! Kokomo and BBTS make their livings on getting figures for sale before retailers and HTS, marking up the price, and reaping the rewards of having consumers who want to have the figures first. If you notice, Kokomo has already started reducing the price of Renegades figures because they are making it into retail. So, as opposed to scalpers, they are stuck with product and must compete with retail to make sales. Scalpers, on the other hand, have no such guile, and just return the figures to retail stores once figures start becoming ubiquitous. Either way, patience pays off even if you live in a scalper paradise, as they will either come down in price on Kokomo, appear at great price on HTS, or show up in retail as figures are returned or restocked. Scalpers aren't the real problem; we are.
