OK, this one definitely does worry me.
I'm sorry, but if you reduce the articulation to anything less than 25th, I'm not buying. Period. And I suspect that will be the same for many other colectors - probably not all, but enough that the amount of money they save on this will probably actually wind up costing them more frum unsold product. Of all the design decisions they could make, this one is quite possibly one of the worst.

Difference was we got kick butt catalogs with the vehicles to drool over, and stuff was on the shelves in mass quantities so we didn't have to run around like chickens with our heads cut off trying to find "enough" of what we want. The buy it now or pay inflated prices later really can be a pain to deal with, and calculate for.

I just received an email with our second and final answer of the year. Looks like they missed one the first time around.
HissTank.com What was the design choice behind the look for G.I. Joe Renegades Figures? HASBRO: *For the Renegades figures we had decided to do a style that is similar/in-line with the GI*Joe Resolute figures. *Our reasoning behind this was to give our collectors and fans of the GI*Joe a range of figures that could live along side the other 1980's based 30th anniversary figures. *The style is realistic, but the colors and some of the costume cues connect back to the TV Series. *The key design point is to attempt to tell a story with each figure, and to offer key characters from the show, each with unique card art.

As for finding what you want...that's on the retailers, though truth be told unless you're a large-scale army builder (which very, very few of us were "back in the day") or living outside the US or in an extremely isolated area, "not finding enough" is really just a matter of either not trying hard enough or not being willing to shell out a couple extra bucks to preorder online...both of which are on the consumer, not Hasbro. The product is out there, you just have to be diligent enough about grabbing it while you can. |

I guess my decision earlier this year to mix my Renegades with Resolute figures worked out. They do look good next to each other.

today, retailers don't put out giant catalogs, and they don't want just one series of toys that stay on the floor all year, they want new products continuously. Hasbro has no choice but to sell products to retailers the way they are willing to purchase it. |
