Yep. Pretty sure it goes further back than that. In 2003 the club used the name "Black Dragon" in a club set. Then Hasbro made their own in 2004. Hasbro would make a v2 a few years later. But I think the concept of "Black Dragon" predates ARAH. I think it is an adventure team (12 inch) foes. Some of the 12 inch fans can correct me if I am wrong.

Just saw this thread. Cool!
Black Dragon Ninja has several different backgrounds. The single Black Dragon Ninja was a master Ninja in the Arashikage Clan but left them because he felt that they (Arashikage) are foolish for not adapting newer age weapons like guns, bombs and such. He's like a non traditionalist Ninja Master. I feel that he still is very into the ancient ways of Ninjitsu but was smart enough to relize that if he wanted to start his own spy/sabetuer organization he'd have to bring modern tech to his troops. The Black Dragon organization are like an entire group of troops trained like Firefly. Yes ninjas but more with tech and such. The Collectors Club Black dragon and the VvV BDragon are what I follow but I guess you could go back to Ninja Ku if you are looking for Black Ninjas.

I prefer the VvV Black Dragon Ninja myself. This is the one that I army built when I returned to collecting Joes. It is more of an Iron G kit bash but I think it works really well together.

Black Dragon Ninja Sixth Scale Figure - Sideshow Collectibles
I like this figure. Has a bit of a Mortal Kombat feel to it. But I'm a sucker for ninjas so that probably explains it.

Yeah, but I don't think the club created the concept. I think it is a Hasbro 12 inch concept. Of the 3 3/4 variety the first was the club's convention figure, then Hasbro's repainted ARAH SS, and then Hasbro's repainted New Sculpt IG. If that is all the history there is then the club created the concept as their 3 3/4 figure came first. But like Troy and I have posted we think it is an earlier 12 inch Hasbro concept adapted by the club for 3 3/4 which lead to Hasbro dusting off the concept for mass 3 3/4 retail.
