To me, this looks like an effort to further homogenize and streamline design/development and marketing. I am sure some MBA thinks this is awesome in theory. One can certainly appreciate the reasoning for trying it from a business standpoint. We can see this pattern emerging in recent years when Hasbro produces the same type of product across multiple brands. As a consumer and retailer I would question whether that is appropriate for those different demographics.
For example, those fat-headed figures from a few years ago the name for which I cannot remember. Even if that worked for for say, Marvel or Star Wars, did GI JOE fans really want that stuff? I can't even find a reference to those over on Yo Joe! perhaps reinforcing my opinion (although they could be buried somewhere). I think it is OK for fan interest not to be shoehorned into a one-size-fits-all streamlined marketing channel, but others are of course free to disagree. The GI JOE story and universe is very rich, I just have very little interest in seeing it crossed over with such unlike properties. Action Man/M.A.S.K., maybe. Micronauts, Transformers, JEM, etc.? No thanks.

It was just meant to be some light fun that played with a bunch of older/currently fallow Hasbro propertries.
In that light I think it was a neat geeky enterprise. A fun celebration of neat old toys at Hasbro isn't using otherwise right now and a few peeks at new things at may be comming soon. -ZacWilliam, would like to see more, As I said in the big review on the previous page, Inhumanoids and Visionaries especially,

Good review but it's definitely Inhumanoids.

Can't say I'm psyched for reboots, but if it brings classic updates along with it, I'd be very grateful. I think this is probably correct. Last edited by ero; 10-17-2011 at 05:00 PM.. |

Gotta say ZacWilliam, you painted a great picture of #0,i love grand sci-fi opera and toys....and this has both in spades!! The only thing thats pissed me off is i was working on an OC universe for my customs that would see heroes and villains from different realities battling a huge Chaos army thats tearing its way through time and space, the idea behind this book sounds like its along similar lines dammit!!!

Yeah, I knew I recognized D'Compose and Tendril.
In another universe, another dimension if you will, they would make this into an epic animated mini series and Chris Latta would be like Mel Blanc doing half of the voice acting for all of the villains. |

No thanks. If so, those were more of a novelty and collectible item. THAT I don't have an issue but when Jem starts getting packaged with an Mutore from Inhumanoids with her little sidekick Micronaut....I draw that line. |

Will I check it out? I don't know.
As soon as I heard just a little bit of the premise I was immediately turned off. I will probably read the synopsis a few times when the first few books come out and see if it interests me at all, but I am pretty sure it's a no go even this early in the venture. |
