I don't know, I just never seen any real martial artists doing that chop unless they're breaking boards or something. I thought punches were usually utilized.

I dunno,a chop to the throat can be more devastating than a punch if done right

When I used to practice Karate there were several times a knife hand was utilized (usually not for chopping, though... you're right on that).

Personally, I like him. Sure, the ankle articulation would have been nice, but I can see why hasbro didn't do it. On boots, the joint doesn't look all that bad, but on bare feet, it would look terrible, and I'm more concerned with how it looks as a display piece. As far is his "Kung Fu anti-grip" goes (that was a good one by the way), I think a karate-chop style hand fits the chracter. Sure, multiple hands would have been nice, but it's certainly not a game breaker with Quick-kick. I definitely prefer this to the limp-wristed Tele-viper we got with the Trouble Bubble, or the wierd right hand on Gung-ho which forces me to put the M-16 he looks far better with in his left hand. Anyway, overall, this is a figure I'm looking forward to having.
EDIT: I know Imperial Serpentor is right about knife-hand not being used to chop people, but they are basing this more on movie and TV martial arts, which is about what looks cool, not what works. Besides, after Fatal Fluffies, a giand squid in the middle of Scotland, and Cobra-La, I don't think realism is is a big concern for them. Last edited by MSG Duke; 10-24-2008 at 12:58 AM.. |

I agree with the ppl who are disappointed with the 1st 25th yr version of Quick Kick. I always would get first pick as a kid with my friends, and Quick Kick was always who I choose.
But 25 years later as an adult now, still collecting, It's sad for me to say he is far from my favorite now. And lmf at the guy who said something about what are you all doing with all of the cobra commanders. haha. same with snake eyes... there is like 585890420 different versions of each of them already.. it's kinda pathetic... |
