The artwork shows MASK...and what's funny/odd is that one of those "masks" is actually a Steel Brigade helmet.

I thought it was odd that one of them has POLICE on the front of his vest.

M.A.S.K. and Centurions are Right there behind G.I. Joe as the top toylines of the '80s.

Forgotten Realms or D&D toys in big box retailers don't seem like money makers. Candyland themed toys would be at home with the Tinker Bell and Polly Pocket stuff. Would I pick up a Drizzt action figure? Why yes, I am nerd enough to do that, but I won't admit to it.

Golden golden GOLDEN opportunity to SAVE JOE from dying in the minds of another generation. A generation (perhaps more) just passed without glancing at him when they were kids; alarmingly now adults. Toy Story's star kid grew into an adult. He's a generation of adults who played with Toy Story brands + many brands NON-JOE. Its so ironic. That "new" generation of former kids who digged Toy Story; played with that movie's toys, which were spiritually much more vintage, than vintage Joe himself! Think of it. Toy Story pull-string cowboy WOODY, inspired after, puppet-string cowboy HOWDY DOODY, 1940s. Green plastic soldiers = homage to green plastic soldiers, 1930s. Buzz Lightyear = a homage to toys of the Space Race era 1960s. That decade was thee decade, Joe was born, complete with a 60s Space Capsule all his own. And later, a vintage 12" cowboy and 3.75" cowboy (Wild Bill) all his own. Finally, a bevy of colorful toy soldiers, more vibrant, more diverse, with more personalities half-a-century's worth; all Joe's very own.
Unlike the almost faceless green toy soldiers in Toy Story; Joes have many faces, many names, much diversity, and many personalities to give give Unit:E that much more; for many more sequels to come. Its a GOLDEN opportunity for Hasbro to SAVE JOE dying in the minds of another generation. Kids now adults (soon-to-be parents) might beget yet another generation; unaware of Joe. However, they do know Toy Story since they were kids. They're familiar with its movie characters; such as Hasbro's Mr. Potato Head (1950s). Mr. Potato can serve like MU's Cable traveling "back" to a different realm, yet within a familiar (CGI) setting, discovering a more colorful movie world of toys giving Toy Story a big run for its money. Like Woody in Toy Story (and unlike its plain green toy soldiers) Joe can take the lead role leading Unit:E. This can really help Joe. Its said ARAH toys were not just inspired after toy soldiers, yet from an elite special forces unit called "Delta." Unit:E with perhaps the "E" referring to a unit called "Echo," sounds like an excellent plot + title to start with. Unit:E is a GOLDEN opportunity to SAVE JOE! Of which, did I mention, Joe's GOLDEN own 50TH is coming...soon? Last edited by Tuskegee Joe; 10-15-2011 at 02:44 PM.. |

It would be modern D & D characters like Drizzt, Eliminster, Wulfgar, Breunor...etc..etc.. Not those of the old 80's cartoon.

Well that was interesting.
I am in for a new MASK line. I would also pick up a Drizzt Do'Urden if he didnt look too sissy. Centurions? HELL YEAH. But who really has any idea where this is heading...... |
