I'm not really sold on this. I understand the time and effort that goes into it. I'm not knocking them for it either. With limited time and budget they did pretty well. I just don't really get the hype. I liked ROC and would honestly rather watch it then this. But hey, to each his own.

The film looks like it was fun to make. I hope to see it in its completed state.

I had the privilege of meeting Mark Cheng and sitting at the VIP screening with other Tankers. I also got to enjoy the movie over drinks with several cast and crew. I must say the story has a crazy twist and I loved it. When Mark Cheng explained in his own words what his goal was with this film, It hit me. I was hooked right away. We as tankers like to refer to it as "JOEVERSE". I can't give it away but when you guys see the film keep that term in mind, I'm sure you'll appreciate this film as I did when I saw it.

I can't wait to see it! It looks awesome. From everything I've heard and read about it, it sounds like a true labor of love!

Will there be some kind of DVD release with this? Perhaps as an extra or bonus disc on an upcoming GI JOE release, like the new movie, or has the director never been in talks with Hasbro?

I got to see it saturday night. I really enjoyed the vast majority of the film. The fight scenes up untill the very end were gritty and realistic. The editing was top notch. The actors gave it their all.
This was clearly a labor of love for everyone involved, and they deserve praise and respect for it. I will warn anyone about to watch it though that they will need to take the final few minutes with the same kind of childlike wonder witrh which you watched the cartoon, or else you probably won't like it. I have a bad feeling that I'm getting too old and grumpy because honestly the 180 at the end was way too goofy for me to enjoy. |
