Hasbro needs to work harder to ensure that their trademarks remain in effect. I heard that they've been forced to change the name of some of their other properties because of this.

For instance:

1. My Little Pony is now My Small Horsey
2. Nerf is now Soft Foam
3. Littlest Pet Shop is now Smallest Animal Store
4. Mr. Potato Head is now Spuds McHeadey
5. ...and last but not least: Transformers are now Gobots

Sorry, I couldn't resist poking fun at these name changes...

As far as the Stinger goes, this is what was in the Wal-Mart computer:

Cobra Stinger - 65356938196

Doesn't seem to be a "Cobra Sting Raider" to me.

WTF is up with the names, I agree they will always be Sky Hawk and Water Mocasin in my eyes but where did they come up with Ghost Hawk and Stinger Raider, if you have to change them, you can certainly do better than that, thats just PLAIN LASY is what that is. Also what happened with the SHARC, did they reaquire that name, because it came out first as the Night Spectrum. What will the Whale be? USS Intertube?

The new one is the SHARC TOOTH, so I don't think they reacquired the name.

Is it just me or does the "Cobra Sting Raider" seem a bit small anyway? Maybe it just seemed bigger when I was a kid.

Funny, since Hasbro themselves referred to them as Sky Hawk and Water Moccasin (and Starduster) in the latest QnA. they know what's up, but what can ya do as far as legalities (although i cannot imagine why they can't use Water Moccasin) but Ghost H.A.W.K. is a pretty stupid name. and Sting Raider makes no sense.

Have you seen Lift Tikcet? he was one of my Favorite new figures from SDCC ~ he uses a lot of Airborne but looks terrific. Plus him and Wild Bill can stand around and pine for a helicopter together.

Hasbro can call them what they want if it gets them on the shelves. Once in my grubby mitts they revert to their original names.
That 'Water Moccasin' is sweet... they both are in fact.
