For everybodies information these were CHROMED in the US using old cheap tanks to keep costs down hence to mottled beat look of the old HISS and not the flat of the 25th releases. They could have been given a second coat of chrome for another 50 bucks but i like the battle worn look.
My friend Cobra_Mortal1 in Tucson got them done for me and in volume yes they would be cheaper, but i don't have 100 tank to spare do you?? We would all love a chrome Skystriker but they are $300. The first picture is my custom, the second is my custom before canopy dying with my original from the convention H.A.T.E. on top . Yes the repro stickers will probably curl up in 5 or 10 years like most do but Cobrastickers won't do them so you have to make do with what you can. As for making money off it, ok only a little but who's the bigger fool for spending $300 on a Firebat simply resprayed matt black and badly at that. |

I'm wondering why Paul's post isn't showing, the owner and guy who is running that auction. it is showing in the front page feed but not here on the forum.

Destro, you're hilarious. You can't be bothered to front page anything about the second biggest OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED BY HASBRO GI Joe Convention on the planet, yet you front page this and try to pass them off as an unofficial convention. Don't take statement A) "these figures are not official", and take that to step B) therefore, the convention is not official. Do you know of any other GI Joe conventions where Hasbro sets up a booth each year other than those two? Not only sets up a booth, but debuts finished product at those shows as well? Oh that's right, you wouldn't even front page finished product reveals from Canada Con this year either.
But this knockoff, of a 'custom' in your eyes is front page news. You guys handle yourselves pretty professionally everywhere else in regards to the GI Joe community, yet you let personal bias over one guy who works with a lot of other people to run a major con get in the way of reporting the news. Too bad.

The Canadian Joe Con is not sanctioned by Hasbro U.S., but the tanks were supplied by Hasbro Canada. I think Hasbro Canada wants the Canadian Joe con to be offical.

"Custom" of a rare piece made in significant quantities for pimping on eBay = knockoff. I guess I should snag some red Krylon and a few dozen Sting Raiders, I'll get frontpaged!
Also, love how the Frostback Troopers will be "available at a later date." I guess those will be "customs" too. |

Too bad. Putting the knockoffs on the front page is one thing but to call the convention itself unofficial is a bit of a stretch. They seemed to have plenty of representations for the line considering the small venue. Personally, after hearing stories of Joe Con I'd rather go to Canada con. It was a great vibe and everyone was super cool. Of course the figures they make are customs. These guys make them on their own time and in their own houses. The fact that they do that gets way more respect from myself than just sending a figure to a factory to be made. Granted you won't get the same numbers produced but you get a more one of a kind figure and original concepts. |

I wish I cared about internal politics. But this "exclusive" isn't much to address. It's really just a silly repaint. The 2nd HiSS Tank is awesome. Start churning out that sculpt.

. I had no idea you guys looked at this show as "OFFICIAL" and you don't want people getting that idea when there is an official show and club run by HASBRO. http://www.gijoeclub.com/ http://www.gijoecon.com/fl2011/ I'm am glad you guys have a Joe Show to attend up in Canada, it's just not official.
