I didn't say it was required, I said it was standard. Meaning: not unusual.

Also meaning that the Resolute designers didn't get the idea from riot police, they got the idea from real world Special Forces uniforms. Check out Sideshow's Snake-Eyes figure, he has knee pads as well and I'm sure those Sideshow guys know a lot more about military gear than you or I do (I was in the military for over 10 years, but most of my experience is 5 or 6 years out of date).

I won't go into the designer's knowledge or lack thereof on military weapons & fighting techniques. This is Snake Eyes we're talking about. A highly (extremely) trained, cat-like, agile ninja. The best of the best. I think it makes him look unprofessional.

I like Destro's design even less now.

It makes him look some sort of bloated plutocrat who is capable of nothing more than barking orders at cannon fodder from deep within a well fortified bunker, possibly whilst chewing on a platter of fattening foods. Get busy with the Baroness? I'm not sure he could attempt such a thing without heart failure.

To me, Destro was always a man in excellent physical condition, perfectly willing to go out on the battlefield and get his hands dirty when needed. This Destro? He doesn't look he could be bothered getting up to take a leak.


If you're reading Hasbro, Destro HAS to be changed. It is NOT representative of the Destro we grew up with.

The counter argument may be 'This is not the G.I.Joe you grew up with' but many of the character designs very clearly reference the G.I.Joe we grew up with, so why change something that was perfect in the first place?
