just got a few things to say about the naysayers here their complaints are sooooo stupid one was complaining about the vests now i grow up with the old joe's and i like duke but lets be honest his original outfit was so unusable in real combat conditions. i just don't get why they complain about the vest one said the armor looked unprofessional because yeah it looks so much more professional to get shot also their complaining about firefly now personally i don't like the design i think the vest is to bulky but i makes sense that he wears it i mean he works with bombs of course he would were armor. just listening to these complaints ticks me off it's naysayers like that that will bitch and moan about the new animation and toys and will refuse to buy them because they don't look like they did in the 80s and hasbro will see this and it could kill any chance that they will continue and ruin it for everyone else

Well see, real vests are bulky too, and some weigh 50+ pounds with all the pouches and such on them, the image someone posted at the top of the page, it's of the USMC's new MTV (Modular Tactical Vest).

As of right now the Marines are doing away with it in some companies because its heavy, bulky, and the Marines don't like it.

They have a NEWER vest (The SPC or Scalable Plate Carrier), of which I feel was the inspiration for Duke's plate carrier. Heres a picture:



Not as bulky, but when you consider what you need to protect yourself (Vest's soft armor inserts, as well as steel or ceramic SAPI plates), then the vests are going to be bulky fully loaded and such.

Look at the two pictures I posted, notice how significantly different the sizes of the different types are. One is smaller (the SPC) however, they are both "bulky" by most peoples standards.

I'm really digging the resolute designs. They have a nice stylized real world look to them, which should serve to make them visually appealing for the mass market. I think we need to see Destro in motion before judging too harshly...it looks like he's wearing a sort of pea coat, which are not form fitting but add a bit of bulk. I'm sure once we see the actual animation he'll look fine.

As for all the people who are raging against these redesigns, Resolute is going to be easy enough to avoid, so no big deal right?
