Giving Duke (I presume) that gun is so trite & predictable too: GI Joe is hardly about the mindless, OTT destruction that it suggests.

And what's with all the bottles floating around Duke's head..?

Exactly. Cover art usually has very little to do with the inside art.

I do notice though that this is marked as #1 and not #0.

Im not buying this book as Im just not interested in reading an alternate reality ( sad as this is the first time in 20 some years I wont be buying and reading GI JOE or comics for that matter)

but I thought the art was VERY good, I love it

Dang... for a G.I.Joe fan site lots of folks sure hates on some G.I.Joe. I would have thought a fan commumity would be excited about a new Joe book about to hit the stands, I know I am!

One image yes, but one intended to usher in a new era of Joe and hopefully gain a large new readership. As such, I don't really think it gives the right impression of the franchise.

Personally, I'll always prefer the 'dynamic cast shot' as seen on both Marvel and DDP's premier issues (unless that's being saved for IDW's #1)
