hmmmm...maybe I will get my 2nd one then? my check was sent 6/2, but last I checked it didn't get cashed though...whatever. I only did it because I got 6 more stickers and wanted an error free Doc, but at least I got one.

i would say, given that w4 comic packs just hit retail, what a month ago? and with Hasbro re-reunning a good chunk of the earlier figures that they could have seen the writing on the wall (that there weren't going to be nearly enough to last too the end of the promotion) and done a 2nd run of Docs to meet demand.
I was seriously ready to quit on the line this morning, but coffee and time and Shogi's awesome pics and review of the VAMP have mellowed that opinion :p |

Isnt the club going to send something to everyone who gets a form to them before AUG 31st? I know it may not be DOC but HASBRO has always sent a figure or something of equal value ($6.99) to anyone who completes a mail-away offer. What # do I call to check if my order processed for DOC?
THE MAIL AWAY DOC HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CLUB! THIS IS A 100% HASBRO THING.

I replied earlier today, and see that there are now a slew of new posts. Many of these ranting and raving and declaring how Hasbro screwed them over and how they would not buy anything else because of it. The ranting may make you feel better, or it may just be fun to join the bandwagon, but guess what--None of the rants or the "boycotts" mean anything unless you contact Hasbro to express your dissatisfaction. Hasbro may dismiss it with a reciting of their offer terms that are standard with 99.9% of all mail-in offers. You may see it as unhelpful. But guess what. Companies aren't psychic and need to receive direct feedback for them to know how to change things in the future.
I just double-checked my bank statement. No, they did not cash my check. Oh well. I tried to get a limited run figure via standard channels and failed. But that should be expected when trying to get a limited run figure available through limited means for a limited time. If you haven't figured it out, they keyword is "limited". That just means that the figure I bought today has actual collector value, even if there is a possibility that there were more produced of Doc than Buzzer. |

Why would you quit collecting something just because a mail-in's supply didn't last? Maybe GI Joe just means something to me, but the only way I would quit collecting something I love is if the toys started to physically hurt me. I sure as hell wouldn't quit collecting just because I missed out on a freebie.

I guess we all agree HASBRO mishandled the promotion, maybe so. But, don't go screaming bloody murder at those who got multiples, whether to trade, keep, open, etc. You had the same ooportunity I did, and trust me, I'm no richer than anyone here.

Well some people get fired up easily. Christ's teeth. So some people got them and some people didn't. It sucks but theres been plenty a time i didn't get something where someone else did and yeah it upset me, but i went home played some GTA and had a cold one and relaxed. WE all know some scalpers ordered them and theres people who order multiples for their own reasons. Maybe ordering them for multiple people, maybe ordering them to put away for X amount of years who knows. Maybe others who didn't get them can through various people here for fair prices or trades. Ranting on either end of the spectrum won't help much so lets all just have a cold drink smile and move on :>
and no 82 i am not trying to take a shot at you. :> |

I am more ticked off at Hasbro constantly underproducing GI Joe product relative to the demand than the people that ordered 10+ of them. Couldn't they have seen early on how they were going and increased the order? It also sucks that the company handling this seems to have shipped multiples when they should have shipped singles to some people. I hope Hasbro loses tons of money next year by overproducing movie toys that sits on shelves and wonders why they don't sell like the 25A line. They will probably also cheapen the quality of the line to increase profit margin, but that's another story.
I sent in a total of 5 Doc redemptions. Two checks were cashed at the same time back in May and I received one in June. I won't hold my breath waiting for any others. Upset, yes. But maybe I should feel lucky I got one. |
