I'm totally hyped for this, though I wish he hadn't given away the spoiler deaths in the first episode. I want to be surprised, damn it.
...And let us see that clip Hasbro! |

Ya know, From 1995-2003 GI Joe was pretty meaningless in my world too. I really could barely give a crap about them at that time. I was a hard core Transfan! GI Joe wasn't cool robots, so I wasn't that into it. Now it's a whole different story. Also if you talk to a lot of voice actors (Not all but a lot) have said many times when asked about a certain property they worked on that it was a paycheck and they don't excatly remember all the same stuff we do. Let's try to remember that this guy is a writer, he doesn't have to be a Joe fan. Besides, it sounds like he IS a fan, but it was called Action Man in his day or country (Remember those 12" figures? Not all of them were called GI Joe, heck depending on where you lived, even the 3 3/4" figures weren't called GI Joe!)
I for one found his interview funny as hell! |

Interesting read... This animation is the thing I am MOST psyched about for Joe in 2009.
Let's hope it becomes a series for a long time... I too believe the teaser will be available after SDCC08. Last edited by Steel Brigade; 07-16-2008 at 07:14 PM.. |

Warren Ellis is perfect for this. His writing style is like an exploding explosion being stabbed with exploding knives. Snake-Eyes impaling someone at 100mph? Hope he's either falling out of the sky or jumping off a motorcycle, or a combination of the two.

This all sounds good to me. I haven't heard of Mr. Ellis before but it sounds like they picked the right man for the job.

I REALLY hope the "PG-13" rating means no fanservice with the female characters, we don't really need shots of Scarlett in her underwear to appease loser joe fans who feel the need to get off on fictional characters.

Well, you have to remember this is a hobby where people make custom action figures like this:

Warren Ellis is quite possibly a minor deity sent to judge mankind and bestow amazingness and this is fabulous news of the highest order.
It's true, he won't bullshit and come out with stuff like 'oh, I've been a fan since day one, it's my life long ambition to do this' but he's generally always entertaining and has written some of the finest comic stories of the last 15 years. |
