You mean Andy Wildman? He was pretty good and contributed some great work to the Marvel book. It`s a pity it was a later, less popular period of the comic otherwise I think more people would rate him.

I thought this was about Larry Hama and the new comic. What does Ellis (and your obvious dislike of the man) have to do with anything? He won't be writing it.

Hopefully since Hama is on this, a total reboot won't be so bad. I think the whole Heavy Duty over Roadblock might be a Hasbro choice. With the movie next year, and fans looking for merchandise to coincide with it. So if HD is in the movie, people might come to expect him in the comic.
I know from reading the Marvel run that no matter what wacky characters Hasbro made him put into the book he came back with a good story. Looking forward to seeing what happens. |

Here's what I don't get... why is what Hama says/does automatically interpreted as best for the franchise? At some point, doesn't the franchise get bigger than Hama's personal preferences? He's already said he's not big on plot... which IMO is one of the most important elements in any good story.
I hate the idea of a rewrite that does away with years of continuity and includes of all things, Heavy Duty. (GEEZ, I hope black wisecracking Ripcord isn't included in that lineup) That being said, I'm very hopeful we'll get solid character development the way Hama has done in the past. I always said I'd boycott a reboot... but yeah, that was just me talkin'. I'll check it out, and despite my misgivings, I do have high hopes for this relaunch. Then again, it IS IDW, so I'm not sure at all where my hope comes from...
