This from the Q&A over at the Terror Drome:
"Q3 — Is there any chance you could tell us the method of re-sculpting the Skystriker for the "30th Anniversary"? A3 — The Skystriker story is interesting - to me at least! In the early stage of the development, we purchased several vintage Skystrikers and took them apart to find the best preserved parts. It was a lot like putting together a dinosaur bone exhibit for a museum. Once we had a full set of nice parts, these were sent to a model shop where they were used as a basis for a full rework in a 3D modeling program. At this stage the design was modified to allow the nose and wings to detach for the box-size, and the new cockpit was added to accommodate the larger modern-era figure" I think this is an amazing story, but what's more, it gives us reason/hope to believe we can/will see other remakes because now they've show the method and extent to which they will go to make it happen. Very exciting! I think a lot hinges on how well these things sell. We all know the fan boys will show up in force but that base is such a small market when you look at toy sales overall. If they sell well, we "could" see another vehicle of that size in the future. Only time will tell if this is true or not.

Awesome info. I know most fans don't care about this and would rather know when future figure XXX is coming out, but this sort of information is awesome to know.

Now I can stop hating Funskool for ruining the original Skystriker molds.
