Not sure if ANY of this will come into play now that Sommers is so thankfully removed from the project.

In the ROC movie book SS does say he didn't kill the Hard Master after he got stabbed by SE and fell into the water. I just assumed that the Nanomites had been injected in him and that kept him alive. @ Rockshield-Was the directors commentary on the blu-ray?

I kind of prefer an idea where SS is dead but through flashbacks, recorded media/evidence, and maybe an imposter, leads SE to the real killer. Enter Zartan as the Hard Master killer and SS imposter, manipulating SE away from the heart of the conflict.
Also, I think SE's swords in that picture look more like a black chrome version of the old swords. So it does appear to have something different. |

If you watch the directors commentary on Rise of Cobra, they explain this. They had no intention of killing him off, NOR was he supposed to be a bad guy. There is footage that they took out, where Storm Shadow explains himself after Snake Eyes stabs him, revealing himself as the undercover agent in cobra looking for the killer of the Hard Master. He falls into the freezing water but does not die. Sommers said that it would be too confusing to the viewers to reveal Storm Shadow as a good guy right at the end of the movie (and so terrible that he dies RIGHT when you realize he isn't bad).... so he cut the scene and said that it would appear as a flash back in the sequel... once they reveal that he survived the fall.
Not sure if ANY of this will come into play now that Sommers is so thankfully removed from the project. |
