I see a lot of naive fanfic writers applying for that job. And I see a great deal of disappointment in their future.

Hey! Maybe he is also trying out for a part in GI Joe 2! He already has the front page story to go with it

He'll probably reboot the G.I. Joe toy line five times by 2012.

They need, and will hire, a publishing professional. All of these articles teasing the "hey, maybe you have a shot!" thing are a real disservice. |

I for one will miss Andy Schmidt. He brought Larry Hama back to the Joeverse to continue the Marvel stories, signed up Costa, Cage, and Fuso for a killer series, and killed the Commander. Perhaps not all were his ideas but he had a hand in making them happen. I thought the Dixon series started slow but has picked up speed. Not to mention what has been happening in the Transformers ongoing. I'm buying more IDW and Dark horse books than Marvel or DC combined.

Oh man, i don't know if this is bad news or good. Since his Marvel's run i have appreciated his work. Hopefully this will mean good for both IDW and Hasbro, he knows the importance of comics and can coordinate some stuff directly and with knowledge and respect for the material.
