Dixon isn't my favorite due to his bizarre obsession with SE and Helix, and that he's basically becoming Hama-lite. Seriously, people say SE is Joe's Wolverine because he is you tool. Now you'e turning Helix into their Buffy.
That being said, I like the way the rest of the universe is going for the most part. Also, USA Today has been giving Joe ALOT of love lately it seems. THAT is freaking cool. |

It can happen, but isn't very likely. As autism is considered a spectrum, there are all kinds of different cases. There is nothing about the way Dixon writes her that screams Autism, but there are people with autism who you would never realize had it.

For the most part I really enjoy the new series.
I'm glad SE has his own book now, so that other Joes can have some screen time. And yeah - the art so far isn't doing anything for me. I feel like editorial should've seen that and been like "no." |

So Helix is basically a mutant but they're describing her as autistic? More like an advanced form of a photographic memory. Nothing in autism speaks to what Helix is capable of. Probably just a poor choice of words by Dixon.
I still think Helix stretches the credibility of the Joe universe. I can buy into the fantasy poart with experimental weapons, vehicles, etc but not enhanced powers. They are advanced military operatives, not superheroes. |

I think they're going for an Asperger's type autism as it usually is attributed to gifted people who can still function in society. The problem is one of the key traits is the inability to pick up the subtleties of body language. Dixon is going with exact opposite in his interpretation.

Reason 144 why i don't like duke: he's a douche bag (note this is also reason 2 17 67 80 and 113)
mainframe wears grey, is clean shaven and makes no attempt at humor scarlett is supposed to be the athletic chic with itty bitty boobies...not a buxom breasted pussy cat doll playmate and duke is acting like a highschool jock...oh wait i covered the douche bag thing. baroness...and the art overall will take some getting used to...at least now i have to do some research to find out about the other candidates and see how they fit in the joeverse. will i buy these issues...yeah...would i prefer audiobooks...at this point...yeah |

Don't like the art, about dixon's supposed obession about SE and Helix, just because they were on an arc is not an obsession, i like the way the're handling SE, i have seen so little of him, but really Civil war needs to put the characters front and center to care about them, we know nothing about some of the CC postulants so it could be great if in the course of the story we know about them.
Still i'm going to give it a try, but the art is awful. |

I have been out of the Joe loop for awhile. Is the IDW Hama written book dead? And I guess the are re-booting everything again?

Mainframe has always been depicted as dark hair and goatee in the IDW universe.
It's Leatherneck that doesn't look right. Check out my review of this issue in the comics section.
