This is the kind of stuff I like to hear when an actor plays a favorite character from my childhood. Park's enthusiasm gives me that much more confidence in his roll as ol Snake Eyes. I really hope they go with more of the command look this time, but the circa 1985 version is his more iconic look and I won't be disappointed either way, so long they do a good job with the character itself and NO RUBBER SUIT PLEASE! I remember in an earlier interview Park had to build Snake Eeyes's fighting style around the suit. I feel like the suit should be built around the fighting style. Something that allows Park to move around more freely and would mirror more accurately how we've imagined Snake Eyes to be as kids.

what would you like him to wear?

lips i can deal with gives more detail in face but i am intersted to see how he looks without lips only time i could see he had lips on his mask was close ups of him in film.

glad hes back i like him as snakeeyes he did character justice & costume looked like it does in comics with some minor differnces added to it.

could have been worse wolverine origins movie when wade wilson wnet into weapon x program to become deadpool snakeeyes could look nothing like he does in comics & animated series he could turn out something craptastic for anyone who knows deadpool charcter & seen wolverine origins movie you knwo what im talking about remade that cahracter in differnt look everything nothing remotly close to deadpool in comics or animated movies/series.

Well, my two dimes....
The lips were part of the 85 SE. Much similar to the gear used.
Now... Give Ray something more to what he can work with. Build him a suit, not a batsuit, but something as how he would see fit. That is what SE is about. Make it good, don't change him too much but give him something he can enjoy. If you lose the visor, the commando version would be nice too, give him some change. But work with Ray first, then construct ideas for the suit, that's all I could say to ask.

THe actor to play a difficult part of a character who does not speak, should beable to work out in actions. Afterall, actions are how SE talks, outside of the hisstank boards!

Crap! For a moment I thought this is what Park was saying about the costume. lol!

Sorry I wasn't really specific about that, but either something more resembling the wave 3 commando SE would be awesome or if he rocks the visor like his 1985 incarnation that would be awesome too. Maybe update it a little bit, so it doesn't look like he's wearing a black spandex cat suit. What would be even better is if he started off in the movie dressed in his commando attire and did a costume change toward the end, wearing his visor for the final battle or something. Might confuse the audience a bit though, for those who aren't familiar with Snake Eyes's different incarnations. I didn't absolutely hate SE's look in ROC. It was the most accurate costume in the movie IMO, but it just looked a little stiff and cumbersome. Like I said earlier, maybe the costume should be built around Ray Park's fighting style to allow him to move more freely and not look so much like a robot.

The lips were annoying but so was the whole rubber suit look, I'm hoping for a complete overhaul on his uniform. Black sweater commando look would be great and I assume fairly easy and inexpensive to pull off and I agree about his excitement for the role, I love it.

Flashback to May 25th 2007, Los Angeles Convention center, I am in line to get Park's autograph. Do I ask him about Maul? Toad? No I ask him if he has considered auditioning for the GIJOE movie that Paramount is filming and he says no he didn't even know there was one but that he would like to play...Snake Eyes. As I leave he turns and discusses it with the guy at his table, I kid you not.
in fact his response was:
"I would love to play Snake Eyes no one has asked me but I'd love to do it."
So, was it me that started all this? or did he know already and was just going with the flow?
"Ray Park: I’m signed up to do three movies, which I am happy about. When I heard when they were going to film my “G.I. Joe” movie and Snake Eyes was involved—I made as many phone calls to people I knew that might be able to help me. Just to get my name in through the doors to come in and audition. All I wanted to do is audition. I want to say, “Hey, look. Just have a look at me. I want to do this.” So I really wanted to play the part."

Ray park showed up in a local comic store here in LA/studio city area after the 1st film had wrapped up and I remember him telling the owner, "Don't blame me if it sucks" which should have clued me in at that point but the fact that he sounds really excited about GIJoe 2 is very positive.

I like this guy. He has a true love of the character. There are too many spoiled brats in Hollywood that never understand when they have it good (Megan Fox, for example). If all actors had Ray Park's attitude, we might actually have better opinions of Hollywood.
