As far as Bruce Timm-great story teller bring him on for that. I can't stand his stylized desings anymore. That really needs to be retired and I don't want to see it in GiJoe. What I would like to see -realistic and good animation -no pokemon/transformers animated/distored mutated japanime style characters. Something along the lines of animation for the first 2 joe miniseries and the movie. They had good animation. -good voice acting-this sigma six voice acting was horrible and amazingly stupid. The voice acting for Justice League was top notch. -good stories and no dumb characters-an episode of how many bugs Tunnel Rat can eat or helping Surly get an A on her math test are just purely stupid. -talk up to kids now down to them-when I was a kid I was into GiJoe and Transformers because I didn't feel like I was being considered an idiot by the creators of the show. When an episode was "out there" it was more the exception then the rule as opposed to modern times where a good episode is more the exception then the rule. Shows like Spiral Zone I never warmed up to because it was just purely horrific-horrible voice acting, bad animation, bad storylines, etc etc. What I think will happen The opposite of what I put up above. However the fact that they are trying it on the internet first may be a good move on the part of those of us who want some form of quality show. If Cartoon network was already planning on grabbing this up we would see the basic dumbness they support and lack of quality they love. Last edited by DavAnthony; 05-23-2008 at 11:06 AM.. |

Doing it now seems like it would be prepping for the movie. A more realistic style like the 80's would be appreciated but not likely considering kids no-days like that kewl speed-lines and big eyes anime stuff (I like TF animated by the way) Only reason I'm hoping against TF Animated or Batman TOS style is if it is successful it's going to mess with the style of figures we're getting now... (like SW Clone Wars and TF Animated)

I think it depends on their target audience. Kids these days tend to like the anime style and fad (including my nephew and neice). I personally love the cartoons that have a more "grown-up" story and feel. Shows like Shadow Raiders, Beast Wars/Machines, Reboot, and the first 2 seasons of Gargoyles were cartoons I really loved as a late teen and early 20 year old, I think these kinds of cartoons can appeal to everyone, not just kids. If GI Joe was done in those sort of styles it would be good for new fans and old fans alike IMO.

I agree with Mr.Clean....I'm predicting this to be Sigma6 Pt. 2, and I'm also willing to bet that some of the figures that are supposed to come out before the Omega Force, like Pilot Scarlett and Flint in Cobra Disguise will be tied into this new toon. Hasbro got us ravenous again for ARAH, teased us with the updates, now is throwing the steak into the garbage disposal for this new series instead of having it branch off.

How much you want to bet it'll be majorly influenced by the upcoming live-action movie?
Transformers Animated while uses a lot of the G1 homage in it also uses a lot of the TF live action movie stuff in it as well, from the All Spark, to Megatron's cybertronian look, to Optimus Prime having a mouth with a retractable faceplate. So I wouldn't be surprised if things from the movie leak into the new G.I.Joe toon. Until we see actual pics though we don't know. |

Wow. A few voice actors here and there say they've been approached or signed to a completely undeveloped, unknown quantity of a TV show, and some of us are already seeing conspiracies and "DEATH OF TEH LINE!!!" in the news. Jeez. I'd say at least wait for some kind of substantial information but that'd be wasting my breath.

if it a good cartoon it a good cartoon if it bad cartoon then a bad cartoon but there no way too know unitl it comes out. If it going to be anime art style then I will say I hope is a good anime art style. Something like Macross or Full Metal Panic. Even the folks that do Avatar but with a little more realistic features in the art style . Grey Delisle would be awesome voice for Scarlett, she could probably do a proper Baroness real easily too

However, there has been one American style animated series that has looked promising. The new Marvel X-Men series which recently premiered online looks very well done and the production values seem top-notch, on par with some of the better American action cartoons of recent years like Justice League. |
