You guys heard about it here first at HISSTANK: IDW GI Joe Books For May and June 2011 (IDW GI Joe May 2011 Solicitations - GI Joe News, IDW GI Joe June 2011 Solicitations - GI Joe News)
Here are some more details. Images attached below as well. IDW Publishing | The home of 30 Days of Night, Star Trek, Terminator, Transformers, G.I. Joe... Quote:
Following the epic death of COBRA COMMANDER in G.I. JOE: COBRA #12, IDW will launch three monthly series beginning this May: G.I. JOE, COBRA, and SNAKE EYES. Under license by HASBRO, the "COBRA CIVIL WAR" tie-in will show the aftermath of the COMMANDER'S death from three entirely different standpoints. To kick off this universe-changing event, in April IDW will release G.I. JOE: COBRA CIVIL WAR #0. The winner of this monumental battle will be the COBRA operative who kills the most members of the G.I. JOE team. Then in May, the search will continue as the hunt for the new COMMANDER runs through the three new G.I. JOE series.
G.I. JOE chronicles the deadly competition within COBRA, as the JOEs become the snake's primary targets. The new COBRA COMMANDER will be chosen through a "trial by combat" and the score is tallied in blood. Written by Chuck Dixon, with art by Javier Saltares, this series is told from the G.I. JOE perspective. COBRA follows the plots, double crosses and outright blood bath of those striving to be the next COBRA COMMANDER. The BARONESS kicks some tail, BLACKLIGHT battles Joe forces, and the SERPENTOR returns with a secret that could mean the end of G.I. JOE as we know it. Written by Mike Costa and with art by Antonio Fuso. SNAKE EYES showcases the deadliest G.I. JOE in his first time ever ongoing series, as he embarks on an adventure to confront his most skilled enemies in seek for justice. Written by Chuck Dixon with art by Robert Atkins and Agustin Padilla. Each series will offer and allow fans to collect three candidate covers by artist Zach Howard. In addition, a special "Things to come" poster will be available inside each issue by artists Saltares, Fuso, and Atkins. COBRA #1 ($3.99, 32 pages, full color) will be available in stores in May 2011. Diamond order code: MAR11 0421. SNAKE EYES #1 ($3.99, 32 pages, full color) will be available in stores in May 2011. Diamond order code: MAR11 0424. G.I. JOE #1 ($3.99, 32 pages, full color) will be available in stores in May 2011. Diamond order code: MAR11 0426. Seriously, that synopsis is so badly written that I have to wonder if it's completely intentional or if they got a 4 year old to write it. |

yeah this is incredibly lame sounding and if the cover art is that terrible i shudder at what the panels must look like.
